Same excrement, different year.
Seriously. Do you think any of us will ever see $150 extra from this company? I think not.

Now that the relatives have gone home, the leftovers are gone and the holiday travel season has come to a close, it’s time to wrap up the news from 2007 and focus on what’s in store for 2008. We’ve got a lot to talk about.
First, the news for ‘08: We’re revamping the Hat Trick program for 2008 and giving it a new name and higher payout potential (see details below).
And remaining from ‘07: The Department of Transportation (DOT) statistics for November are out. The good news is that we posted our best on-time performance in 18 months. Unhappily, it wasn’t enough to make a Hat Trick payout under the 2007 program. We finished out of the money for on-time performance by just half a percentage point.
We also just missed the on-time and bag performance measures that would have meant a payout under the special “Holiday Hustle†program for November and December. We were on track for most of the two-month period but were tripped up by inclement weather and very high loads over the Christmas holiday.
The December DOT rankings for all airlines won’t be official until February, but we’re optimistic -- given our A14 performance of 74.5 percent for December -- that our performance will be very competitive and may qualify for a final Hat Trick payout. Thanks for everything you did to improve our operating results!
Bye-Bye Hat Trick – Hello “Triple Play Bucksâ€
For those who are new to the airline, “Hat Trick†paid a $50 bonus if we were in the top three (among Big 10 airlines) in any one of the DOT’s monthly rankings for on-time, baggage handling or customer complaints. We paid a $100 bonus if we ranked first, second or third in all three of these categories.
We’re going to retire Hat Trick in ’08 and pay up to $150 for hitting all three!
Our 2008 program “Triple Play Bucks,†will pay $50 per “hit†in the monthly DOT rankings. That is, we’ll pay $50 for placing first, second or third in any one of the categories; $100 for hitting two of three, and $150 for a triple play in on-time performance, bag handling and customer complaints.
This will potentially mean more bonus payouts, and help us focus on each of the operations parameters that will spell success for the airline in 2008. We start measuring for Triple Play Bucks beginning this month. The first results will be reflected in the DOT’s Air Travel Consumer report in early March. (The DOT’s performance reports are released one month after the completion of the month, so January’s results won’t be reported by DOT until early March).
