Hopefully your family won't be on the first flight that crashes due to a medical issue of an Airline Pilot who dies at the average age of 62 1/2 and is now allowed to be is at the controls.
Yes, that is why we all have pilot license's in our family!
I personally can't believe the FAA is going to do this.

Hey little old man, it will be fun! You have 5 more years to throw gear for me on the -400 if you ever get senior enough to come over onto it with us. We just have to work on radio etiquette with you guys crossing the pond and things will run smoothly. Just remember your lines: I'll have the chicken, I'll take the ugly one and that landing could have happened to anyone Captain, Sir!Does this mean "Fast Mover" will be my IRO for an aditional 5 years.....
Say it aint so........

Shander or Ganwick on guard!! How convient of a system you guys have, we should have thought of that....
So the only saving grace was a check airman? Even a new FO could have landed that plane. Something all pilots are trained to do.Just last week a 59 year old pilot died in the cockpit of a Continental 767 in flight. My condolences to his family. This time the flight landed safety because another training Captain was flying as the first officer. The age 60 rule has helped make the US air transportation system the safest in the world and now the government wants to change it. Hopefully your family won't be on the first flight that crashes due to a medical issue of an Airline Pilot who dies at the average age of 62 1/2 and is now allowed to be is at the controls.
------------------------------------------------------Yes, and no US pilot has ever transmitted on guard accidentally. <_< <_< Grow up.
I wish I had a recording of the US flight getting lectured by NY center the other day. I guess ATC got tired of having to call them at least three or four times in order to get an answer.

Sure weve done it!!....Lighten up, its just a joke....
Does your sphincter get tired from being so tight?
--------------------------------------------------------Just getting tired of hearing the same ol crap. The whole
Delta on Ganwick is getting old.
--------------------------------------------------------Back to the subject... age 60.
I remember flying with the "retreads" when they were around in the late 80's. Some were really good, some were okay and a couple were not capable of running bath water.
I imagine it will be quite different when the first class of 60's take to the skies. First of all, the first officers are the ones who know what's going on... always have and always will. They exchange info on captains constantly, and have everyone clocked. Plus, any captain staying on will more than likely also have an IRO on board, so if he starts to go botz, one can hold him down while the other one slips on the tuff cuffs.
