We get ID 75 on other airlines. As for flying on us we used to be able to "jumpseat" on our airplanes. (employee only) I recently heard that this is no longer a viable option. What kind of flight benefits do you get with OALs?
Also, on your AC how many seats do they have and can all employees
non-rev on those? Is it kinda like in the movie w/ Tom Hanks?

Hello, I have a friend, a former NWA mechanic, who received a job offer for LAX. What's the pay like, and how in the world can anyone live out there, even if wages do start at 30.00 an hour, when the average price of a home is $500,000 out there? Where do these mechs live? Where do they drive from to afford a home? Please, any FedEx mechs, please answer where the heck do you look, to find an affordable home around there in California?YES, Pilot Group is UNIONIZED, A.L.P.A.
We are the ONLY Employee Group to be Unionized at FedEx.
There had been previous attempt for the AirCraft Mechs to organize but they faltered in their efforts, have not heard anymore talk if they will attempt this again.

There used to be a good discussion forum about FedEx on AMERICA ON-LINE AVIATION BOARDS, but someone at AOL decided to turn it off about 3 or 4 years ago.

I'm not a FedEx mechanic but personally I'd avoid California all together. Over 20 years ago I lived kinda near SFO and it was insane then. I cannot imagine it now. But, to advise your friend, tell him to get an RV and put it in an RV park. They'll still rape you for park rent but it's maximum flexibility with minimum hassle. Then tell your friend to bid out of LAX ASAP. Then, it would be a simple matter of hooking up, and getting the hell out of there.Hello, I have a friend, a former NWA mechanic, who received a job offer for LAX.
