Big winter storm brewing in the upper mid-Atlantic reagion for this weekend. Reports are saying 10-12 inches of snow in the DC area with heavy snow continuing northeast into BWI and PHL. Love the snow, but hate working in it.

DL is pulling out all aircraft from IAD BWI DCA according to MSNBC. CO is being very proactive. Seems when calling OPS in PIT they said "oh no-we are running a full schedule out of DCA tomorrow" Oh really?-you are now. Interesting
Someone in Tempe must have flown out to OCC and turned the dial up on the "juice" IV drips.

Let's hope someone has it together. I'm having visions of JetBlue/Valentines Day....

OCC in PIT got real good over the years with managing the operation in storms like this. Now they are being directed by people who have never seen a snow plow.

yet we are still....

Really? This is the same OCC that kept calling f/a's to staff int'l flights in 2004/2005 when PHL had over a foot of snow. The director of the PHL airport was on every station saying the airport was closed and they could barely keep one runway open for emergencies. They told us they didn't have that information and to do our best to get there. Like they couldn't get that information for their "crown jewel" airport of the system?

Just got off the 2:45pm flight EWR - CLT. Very bumpy, but on time. Still only rain here in CLT. OT, a cranky flight attendant and a rude passenger behind me with a gawd-awful Jersey accent had a shouting match about some broken piece of equipment. Happy Holidays!

Can You Please Explain where NWR is???????

I must have missed the Press Release about this New City.

You're probably being facetious, but I hear the company will try to get the overnight planes out of DCA, and that's it. With the expected snowfall the airport will have a tough time getting the runway cleared even for those few flights.

All you reserves put on your super capes and step up to the plate. Dust off that snow plow and make every reasonable attempt to get there. Closed airports and roads be damned.

Yeah after 10-18 years of mucking the stables during irreg ops I think the "super capes" are SUPER over it.
