What's new

For Adults Only!

If you are going to tell that story, then you should tell it truthfully.

When Reagan was negotiating with the democrats (who had both houses) he struck a deal with them that he would agree to raise taxes only if they would cut spending 3 to 1. The democrats agreed. However the democrats never did go thru with the spending cuts they promised. Reagen regretted that deal with them.

The very same thing happen to Bush Sr in his "No New Taxes" pledge. He was duped by the same trick. Taxes increased, spending cuts never happened.

BTW that's yet another myth pushed by the liberal MSM.

I must have missed the veto over ride in both cases.

Veto over ride has nothing to do with it, Again you seem to only believe what is being spoon fed to you by the liberal MSM.

They agreed on a deal of 3 to 1 spending cuts vs taxes. They all agreed and bills were passed. But then after when it came down to start cutting the dems balked.

You should get yourself educated on the details and events during that time period. You arent getting the full picture from the liberal MSM.

I guess an imaginary depression is better than none at all in your world.

Not mine....maybe you should ask some who have or are in the process of losing their home or job if we're not in a depression.

Oh, I see.....doesn't matter if it isn't in your backyard.

There is a glaring error above. I'll let you figure it out since you seem to be so smart.

Depends on who they support. If they do not support the nomination and/or put their own extreme candidate lime Palin on their own ticket then I think the TP will fracture the republican vote. If they support a main stream republican candidate then the republicans could win. I think it will also depend on who the independents hold responsible for the debt issues.

You've hit upon the "pickle" that the Republican Party is in. In a great many states they are going to have trouble getting elected dog catcher without Tea Party Support. Same goes for the national scene. Tea Party will decide the next President and they're smart enough not to field their own candidate which virtually guarantees an Obama victory.

Why do you think guys like Cantor & Beohner are speaking out & playing hardball?
One: The President is extremely vulnerable now.
Two: The Tea Party has them by the short curlies
Three: They believe that the POTUS will cave in as he has before.
Four: When you a great hand to play, you play it by calling the other guys bluff.

Where is Jesus now that we need him to throw out these modern day money lenders out of the Temple of Freedom & Liberty?

Lets hear it. What is the glaring error that you speak of?

I suggest you research it out first. It helps.

I did already. Apparently you did not. Let me know when you figure it out. If you start from the beginning it should not take you to long.

I'm still not used to seeing the terms TP and smart in the same sentence but what ever. The TP's are on the right fringe. They appeal to the ultra conservatives. Elections are not won on the fringes, they are won in the middle.

According to the latest polls (including FOX) the republicans are sinking fast. Obama has a higher rating than both parties in Congress. Whether he caves is debatable. I guess we will see. The TP's do have their party by the shorts. Taxes are lower than they have been in 60 years and we have two major conflicts with boots on the ground and two minor conflicts where aid is being given but no one wants to raise money to pay for them.

This is going to get interesting.

I see debating is not your strongest suit. Sorry for offending you. However you are still wrong. And you know it.
