Shhhh, maybe hes a plant. Dont give it away.
Why would it matter what his stance was before? I didnt know Corporate Communications was pro/anti worker. They just pass on the info they're told to pass on by the guys above right?
You think the Iraqi Press guy really thought all the things he was spouting off? 😉

No,

Ted was a friend of labor and a friend of Local Lodge 1725 of the IAM in Charlotte, he was very savy to how US would spin things. He was fired from The Observer as not being hard enough on Labor from his Editor and now he is working for US, I just find it hard to believe.

I don't mean to be a negative cynical guy here, but reporters are out for one thing. INFORMATION!

Most mainstream journalists are out for MONEY. Especially freshly unemployed ones.

Why in hell would the company need ANOTHER corporate communication's guy?

They have Calseveter and Chiames....or did they fire the both of them?

Don't forget Amy Kudwa. Chiames was with the company as of yesterday.

I am surprised that Ted Reed would stoop to coming to a company that he knows damn well is on the edge of a cliff.

Desperate people accept desperate things.

I am sure that Ted appreciates you telling the world that he was "fired". Amazing how low some will stoop.

Pitbull, don't worry about why CCY is hiring. You have your hands full with your own union.

I contacted Ted today, he seemed happy working for Chiames, even though I told him that Chiames lied to the IAM members in regard to the airbus issue.

I use to respect Ted, I have a hard time with him now working for the Corporate Spinmiester who still can't admit it was management's fault for the Christmas Meltdown, but Chiames can still only blame the employees.

It was public knowledge to those who knew Ted that he was fired from The Observer for being too labor friendly.

I truly believe this is lower, lets remember how honest Mr Chiames is:

PITguy, I apologize for the delay. I haven't been online and just saw your note.
We are not going to outsource heavy maintenance in PIT or elsewhere. We never even proposed it. (Unlike UA which has proposed the outsourcing of heavy maintenance.)
We will pay all furlough pay as provided for in the contract.
We have no further plans to lay off more mechanics beyond what is published. With the new commitment to operate 279 a/c, we will need just about all the mechanics on the property to perform the maintenance we have scheduled, since our fleet plan anticipated retiring some planes that we will now be flying.
Finally, we are not trying to vendor maintenance with either Boeing or Airbus.

And I would not worry about the AFA Zues, you better get in your spin mode from your days at edited and get the press releases ready for when US shuts the doors or gets sold.

Take it from me, Ted is a good guy. As for reporters out for one thing...that can be true. If you think airlines are bad; the publishing world is not far behind. Ted is a well-spoken, articulate individual, something that this company desperately needs right now. This is a good thing IMHO.

Eye...
don't work here no more...

Yeah, I'm expecting to see IT process auditors and maybe a few business analyst positions posted (fluency in Spanish required) based on this weekend.

Or another mouthpiece. It speaks volumes about priorities at CCY (that is to say, putting lipstick on the pig instead of bathing it). YMMV, of course.

Hey Zeus, Ted thought you guys were horrible to labor . Maybe he is just a phoney and just wanted to capture a story. Hopefully he didn't join your ranks and ruin his reputation.

My advice to you.... I think you need to look over your shoulder at all times, obviously you are not doing a very good job for the company that they need to hire and look to someone else to take care of communications.

In fact, I would be down right insulted if I were in your shoes... 😛

As FOR AFA, we will go back to doing business the old way...you remember don't you zues? ...Ted can appreciate that. Ask him..we'll break him in real quick.

O.K. I'll do it already.
Congratulations Ted Reed welcome aboard.

There. 🙂

shouldn't you be pressuring your underlings to meet the newly mandated 24 day airbus 's' check or else deadline??

Ted Reed is positioning himself to write a book about the end of time for USAir.

Savvy career move! Think about it -- the guy could've remained an everyday worker or rolled the dice and go for the author's title.

He's in a pretty good spot now for his own personal reasons. Betcha he's taking lots of notes!
