Ted Reed is positioning himself to write a book about the end of time for USAir.

Savvy career move! Think about it -- the guy could've remained an everyday worker or rolled the dice and go for the author's title.

He's in a pretty good spot now for his own personal reasons. Betcha he's taking lots of notes!

It's sure to be a number one best seller in the 'comedy management' section at Barnes & Noble. I heard the title is "Management That Doesn't Give A Flying F*&k."

I find it hard to believe that anyone here really knows the true story about Ted Reed leaving the CLT paper. If any of these posters are his friend, they wouldn't actually publicly say that he got fired for being to pro-labor. No self-respecting journalist would admit such a bias to even a friend.

Newspaper writers leave for PR jobs all the time, mostly due to pay. As for the idea that he's writing a book, it wouldn't be the first time that's happened. Maybe US itself (or, say, David Bronner) hired him for that very purpose. You never know.

It was not him to proclaimed to be pro-labor. It was that pesky know-it-all who did. He just wrote strories about the carrier.

700,
Funny, but one could argue that their are NO LIES in the Chiames quote you refered to:

We are not going to outsource heavy maintenance in PIT or elsewhere.
Aren't IAM mechs still working heavy mtc in PIT?

Finally, we are not trying to vendor maintenance with either Boeing or Airbus
They didn't try with either, did they? Don't they use ST MAE?

what you refer to is prior to U violating the existing contract and testing and losing in court.Chiames chiamed in on that here.....
you're splitting hairs......

maybe this Ted Reed appeared to be pro labor.....maybe he was being objective based on what he percieved as fact.At the time of his glory most things coming out of U were against labor.....so he reported as he saw it...this doesn't necessarily make one pro labor.
and maybe he got a better offer and like anyone else and went for better pay..........

Ted was let go from The Observer months ago, he did not leave The Observer and then go right to US Airways.

And as delldude said jack mama, that posting was from Mr Chiames before US took on the IAM and farmed out the Airbus.

Guess you need to read dates.

Jack:

Your loyalty to this vermin management team is a mental illness.

JACK MAMA,

Anyone with half a brain knows that UAIR's management are habitual LIARS!!! In fact, thay have lied so much for so long that they themselves are believing in their own lies <_< .

Castelveter, Chaimes and whoever else is termed "spokesperson" simply are repeating what they are instructed to say. They are mere figureheads. As for the chief jack-asses that are scared to appear in public.....because they might have to answer a question that they didn't have a chance to spin, they continue to sit in their lairs dreaming up more idiotic banter

That is why UAIR is the way it is today. For years EVERYONE in management has been altering the real story to their superiors in an effort to ensure self preservation. But by the time the info hits the top it isn't even related to the original corespondence  !!

The truth and nothing but the truth.........What a concept <_< !!

jack mama, WAY TOO MUCH KOOL-AID..........He LIED when he made the statement, and it's STILL a LIE today......No amount of tap dancing will change the LIE.....

I wasn't backing him, I'm just arguing that he didn't lie in that quote

Sure he did. They took work performed at "PIT or elsewhere" and sent it out.

Suggesting otherwise (that he did not lie in that quote) is like trying to insinuate that Hitler was "really not that bad a guy."

Well, the puzzle pieces are coming together folks. That story (aka the America West/US Airways merger deal) in the WSJ tonight had a lot to do with US Airways newest member of the communications department. Maybe Castleveter isn't as dumb as he looks.
