What's new

Fun contest! Guess where NWA's next "incident" will be!

Having problems counting today? You are a day late and a dollar short on that one tech2101.
Your the only one who is a day late here PlaytheCods, getting tired of being reminded of your POS scab status? Too bad. It's for life. 😉

I propose a new rule on this thread. Scabs are not eligible to pick or "win" the location of the next scab induced flight interuption at Scab Air. Scab substandard maintenance is the cause of most of the interuptions.

Especially PlaytheCods, since he declared this thread "pathetic".

He is right, Scab Air maintenance is pathetic.

My next pick is MIA, more blown mains caused by scabs.

Kinda like Pete Rose betting on baseball.

.......but Pete was NEVER a SCAB!

..... and for the next round, back to SFO.

Oh, and a Happy 231st to all my fellow Leathernecks where ever the world has you today. I will lift a glass this evening in your honor.

Semper Fidelis.

Flight 756 was scheduled to leave for Detroit at 3:14 p.m., but after 2½ hours of delays, including switching a plane, the flight finally took off at 5:35 p.m., Mech said.

Five minutes later, he said, acrid smoke filled the cabin, but oxygen masks did not drop. Crew members told passengers that if they were having trouble they should breathe through their clothes, Mech said.

About 20 minutes later, the plane landed back in the Twin Cities.

--------------------------------------------------------
Why do you suppose the oxygen masks "did not drop"?

a. malfunction

b. pilot knew if he deployed them, there would be no one around to reset them. Thus delay even more.

c. breathing into ones clothes is now a new emergency procedure.

d. all of the above.

[Main reason pax oxygen does not provide smoke protection is because it takes outside ambient air.

I'm headin west ... hows bout LAX ! Sad part is .. we all know "someone" will win this contest within a very short time .. unlike the lottery!

Jen .. and Furface!

PS I hope the heck the Bozo's in Bldg A read this also ... they should be soooooooo ashamed of this so called airline ! What a farce!

Congrats TSH on your latest win!!!

P.S. How do you "reset" O2 masks once they've dropped?
Kev, you can find that info in Chapter 35 of the applicable aircraft Maintenance Manual. I hate to come off as rude to you with my answer, but I do not want to provide scabs who might be reading this forum any help in trying to do their jobs...hope that you understand! 😉

BTW, my next pick for the location of the latest NWA emergency landing will be PHX.

Really?

It's a simple process of coiling the tubes back up with the mask and placing them back in the bin and shutting the flap. That is providing no one pulled the string, which releases a pin activating the oxygen generator. In this event the generator must be replaced. It can be very time consuming though just because of the shear number of them.

I'm sticking with AMS.
