Getting Ugly In Phl

Ok, Philly guys...ramp..what is it that you want? As I understand the "trainer" situation, they merely came to train people on AWA a/c. This wasn't welcomed in Philly? Why not? These are great people that do an honest days work and are also from the west..where they are not accustomed to the deep union divides. We are more laid back than that, we help each other out, we work together, always have, its the western lifestyle. We can't really relate to the Eastern union crap. You guys in the east are clearly die hard union..and thats ok...but give other people a break, and this includes management. Not all management is bad...at least give them a chance..give them 6-8 months to make a difference and then make your moves..but in the meantime there are a lot of employess that want this to work so we can feed our families.

Union crap?

A signed contract between the IAM and US Airways is a legal and binding document which is enforceable.

They violated it, were told to stop and continued that is why US management sent them back to Tempe.

Got proof or just speculation? Not what I heard (from someone who was "sent home"). One left because she didnt feel safe after being threatened and the others left after their 6 scheduled days of assistance were over. Got anything different to prove it or just repeating what someone posted here earlier?

Specifically what is in the language in the contract that creates this violation of goodwill? Generally violations of union contracts have more to do with blatent disregard for employees rights, sick policies, overtime pay. I didn't know it was such an intense violation to help out? So what is the language and section of the violation you guys are referring to? Also..you guys act as though you are independent contractors and not employess with agreements with your company. You're not your own business, you are an employee that draws a paycheck from the very employer you seem to work against. Again, what is the language in the contract that is a blatent violation? just looking for some answers here.

read your scope clause for crying out loud....oh by the way its one of the first chapters as i can tell you never read it.

You're right I haven't read it....which would be the reason i'm asking you the question. I don't have access to your contract. Help me out would you?? Or is that a violation?

Cactus,

The IAM has not given any member a combined copy of the revised contract with all the "F"n modifications on the orginal contract. Its wriiten so screwed up and so many concessions the IAM doesnt want us to know or anyone else how bad they screwed us . (I have a right to B@#$% I voted no on every one) So if your looking for a copy its going to be difficult. Ask the IAM AGCs VP or other snake oil salesman to show you the whole contract with all the modifications when they come out west to tell you how great they have represented the Fleet Service group. Oh and you may want to look up the DOL LM2 reports showing how much the AGC VP and other "made" men are making off our outragous over priced dues.

You have your old contract which is in effect, then you have the new modifications that replace any of the old language, everyone got a copy of the final offer and it is on the web.

And I hate to burst your bubble, but US Airways, not the IAM is responsible for printing the revised agreement.

Why don't you ask "The Truth" where the revised agreement books are?

I hold the IAM Representives of Fleet Service Responsible, agents pay them a salary its up to the Union leaders to get our full copy of the contract with all modification in one book. Agents should not have to go on a Dam easter egg hunt to find out what they have (which is not alot after the last screwing). If the company is responsible to print the copies then the leadershit should be raising he!! and demanding it in court if need be.

Bob,

It is the same old contract with just modifications, every single fleet service and mechanic and related has their old contract and the final offer term sheets, the only portions that were changed are located on the term sheet and both term sheets are on the web and readily available.

The iam, and our reps, are so lame that they cant even get the co. ( per our so called contract ) to supply each member with a copy of the currant contract. Why dosent the iam come right out and tell the membership that even though we have a contract that they cannot force the co to adhere to it.
IMO $$ makes some people blind .

Heres a piece from an article that was on Philly.com this morning. It mentions some of the shortages of equipment that i read about on this thread. Maybe this will provide a glimmer of hope for those guys who mentioned shortages of eq.

"Now that we've gotten through that," Mulé said, "management needs to redirect our energies on employees, and focus on giving them the tools they need to do their jobs," including installing additional bag-handling equipment in Philadelphia. "I'm convinced that what happened before was not the fault of these people here. Now we can't let them down... . They just need the tools - and leadership."

Do you have the link to that? I have looked all over and only found the final offer at http://www.iam141.org/usafinaloffer.htm Need it to refute breakroom stewards.
