I was wondering if there is anyone out there who is funding or has funded their rotary training using UI''s Skills Development Grants?

When I looked into trying to get money from EI, I found that training money comes from the Province. So it will probably vary from Province to Province. Here in Ab, you had to be out of work for a minimum of 3 months, the school had to be recognised in the Province as a school, you have tried to get a joband have the means to prove that you were actively looking in your current field, prove that the reason you can''t get a job is because you need the training, then you needed to do a survey proving that if you had the training then you would be eligible to get a job, and finally that if you got the training would there be a good chance of you getting a job (i.e. is there a shortage of qualified people in the chosen field). A lot of hoops, and if you''re not a pilot already, quite difficult to prove that you''ll get a job shortly after you get the training.

The worst thing they can do is to say no. So give it a shot, they might surprise you and give you some $$$$.
