Health Care

Same here. Single payer is where its at. We need to get insurance out of the equation and hospitals need to be non-profit based. Aside from the fact that making a profit off of medical needs is a conflict of interest, I think it is also morally unethical.

Look at the health care systems of the other top economies in the world then look at ours. Its like the SAT questikns where they ask you to identify the ones that does not fit.

Non-profit doesn't mean what you think it means.

So Obama took 1/6 of the economy.
How many workers are in that 1/6th plus support industries?

How many working people are you willing to toss out the door for single payor?

And you weep for the poor WalMart  or McDonalds employees.....

Methinks this is hypocrisy.

Spoken like the true Socialist you are!
I know you think that's an insult, but it's really not.

I happen to think that health care should be a fundamental right in this country. I also think we as a nation should look out for each other. If that makes me a "socialist" in your eye, then so be it.

So to sum up your statement, Millennials are against Obamacare . . . period!
Well, yeah. You're not summing up what I wrote, you're repeating it. 🙂

The question isn't wether they like it or not. The idea I threw out there is why they don't like it.

Lots of people confuse Obamacare proper with single payer, including on here.

Like I noted earlier, some on the right think it goes too far, while some on the left think it doesn't go far enough.

Im against it too. Its better than what we had and a step in the right direction (single payer) but the compromise still stinks in my opinion.

Since you have no idea how I define a non-profit Im dont think your statement carries a lot of weight.

Let me throw a little idea out there Kev. Could it be that being forced to buy a service(s) that you neither want or need be a factor in the disapproval for Obamacare?

Non-profits make a profit, yes, even NPO hospitals. Is that still a conflict of interest?

I think you are only half right. They dont want it. Statistically they will need it. At some.ooint in ones life time it is highly likely (look up the stats) that everyone will need medical care. Given the current cost of that care it is unlikely that most people will be able to afford the care when it is needed and the unpaid costs will be passed on to the rest of us.

I'll agree with Tree and say half correct. People need health care, but not too many want this version. Yes, it's now the law of the land, and I think it's a good first step. But the ultimate goal for us as a nation should be single payer.

My bad. It was Herman Cain.
As usual, you f#%&ed up again. And yes I believe we'd all be in a lot better shape, whether it was Herman Cain or PeeWee Herman in office, compared to whats sitting in DC right now!

You need to get out of your back shop more often...

That article's claim may be accurate, but not for the reasons you're hoping for. Most millennials I know don't think he's gone far enough. W/R/T insurance specifically, They're no against Obamacare because it's gone too far; they're against it because it doesn't go far enough. Most I talk to are fans of single payer.
Doesn't really matter, the reason, they want BaRack OUT............period !

And let me guess, next on your socialist agenda, "State run company's" paying a "Living Wage" (whatever that means)
Pretty much hit the nail on the head?

Actually, it does matter. Maybe not to a low information person like yourself, but to many people the "why" behind the "what" is the interesting part of the puzzle.

Obama will be "OUT" at the end of his 2nd term.

How can you accuse me of something you can't even correctly define?
