Health Care

Oh yeah.... Healthcare.... My health care is going up by about 45 bucks a month next year. So I guess we don't get to keep the raise we got. Thanks TWU.

You are correct when you say the TWU has failed us both. They gave away your job and they gave away my retirement. I think we can also agree that the Democratic party is concerned for the non-working man. I will not dispute that at all. What I am saying is that the GOP has been taken over by a bunch of Nazis. Their "My way or the highway" way of doing things is causing great hardship for us all. This group is there to make the rich even richer. Why should Mitt Romney pay 14% taxes on his income while we pay more than double that? This is what they do. The Democrats are equally worthless, but at least they want the Romneys of the country to pay their fair share of taxes. Trust fund kids don't work, they don't create jobs and they don't improve the economy. So why should they get a huge break on their investment income? I am sick and tired of when it comes time to vote I find myself voting against someone instead of for someone else. The GOP tells us how patriotic they are while they send our young men and women to war and then cut funding for their medical and mental health care when they come home. They want to force women to have babies and then deny them any kind of financial or medical aid when she delivers. They export jobs overseas to foreign countries where they use slave labor to produce their products. Yeah the Dems throw money at people who don't want to work and they have all kinds of ideas on how to spend money, but they seem to have more moderates in their midst than the GOP. People like Ted Cruz and Canter will destroy this country. We need the government to provide certain things and these guys don't want to spend our money on them. They don't care about roads or any infrastructure at all. They want more tax cuts for their rich benefactors and luxurious pensions for themselves while they deny government workers and police and firemen their pensions. There needs to be a balance of power and they need to work together to come to agreements that are somewhere in the middle of what they both want. Like it or not, the majority of the American people voted against the GOP and they do not want their teaparty agenda. The teaparty is trying to force their agenda on us anyway. This is against our constitution and our whole way of life. If you were on the other side of the fence you would not like it. What if a few Hispanic congressman took over the house and threatened to hold up the government unless we all started speaking Spanish? Would you like that? This is kind of what Cruz and Canter and the other Nazis are doing. Wrong is wrong. Now this back and forth on this subject is actually a good thing. We can post our differences and not be afraid of any kind of retribution by our government. But at the end of the day we are all Americans and we love our country. I respect your opinion and I understand how unhappy you are with our president. I am unhappy with him too. But I am also unhappy with our whole congress. They have chosen their parties over the well being of the American people. Both parties need a complete purge.
Good post!

Your post was deflecting blame to a law NOT implemented by the administration and I simply pointed out how this type of legislation can morph into whatever the powers that be want it to do. The cell phone was an expansion of the existing program and by state basis. Expansion

So you have read and understand where these steps will take us as a Nation?

You mean other nations like Greece?

Profit and Health care may not mix but they are intertwined! The only difference is some people prefer the Government profit and some the private sector. I'll take the private sector!

Sure they will set regulations to gain more power over all Citizens of the U.S.... And you believe that all doctors, nurses, researchers and the companies that hire them should do these services pro bono? Nothing you post makes any sense to me.

No. Not Greece. England, Germany, Sweden......

Non prodit means no profit. Having the private sector making a profit off of my illness is a conflict of interest.

Sweden 10.8 million population 168 Billion in debt!
Germany 71.5million population 2.1 Trillion in debt!
UK 79.6million population 1.6 Trillion in debt!

Still not making any sense to me!

US 300 million population $17 trillion in debt and nothing to show for it.

If my math is correct, we have more people, we are more in debt per capita and we have no health care.

Sweden - $15.5k per capita
Germany - $28.1k per capita
UK - $20k per capita

US - $56.6k per capita. Make any sense now?

Last week I was in line at the grocery store behind a lady talking on her Obama phone. She paid for twice as many groceries as I could afford with a EBT card. Then she walked out the door and put them in her brand new Mustang GT. Some people do have something to show for the debt? I wonder who she voted for in the last election?

exactly so what's your point we are very screwed already and don't have the healthcare liability just think how bad it would be if we did

Do you realize they arent Obama phones?

The program was in place before he was president!

Dont let the facts get in your way.

Okay she was on a phone you and I paid for ..... fact!

Everyone pays for it who has any kind of phone pays the "tax" and I dont care, people who cant afford it should have the means to communicate.

My son's school district is all online and now families with free or reduced lunch can get internet for free, and I think its a good thing.

And we pay for the inept right winger in our government who are holding the american people hostages.

How do you know?

She paid for twice as many groceries as I could afford with a EBT card.

Maybe you're underpaid? BTW, why were you watching what she used to pay with? Sounds kinda creepy.

Then she walked out the door and put them in her brand new Mustang GT.

You sure it was hers? Did you ask?

Some people do have something to show for the debt? I wonder who she voted for in the last election?

Why would that matter?

Okay she was on a phone you and I paid for ..... fact!

Fact: Unless you asked her what cellphone/plan/program she uses, you don't know that for certain.

And if you were eavesdropping, well...

This country is broke because of this foolishness You pay for it every time you buy food, gas, etc. The equity in your home is down because of it. Every time you earn $20.00 and put it in the bank, soon it's worth $15.

Printing money to avoid a default is just a different way of accomplishing the same thing.

If I loan the government money today and the government pays me back with money that only buys [background=yellow]half[/background] as much, I've lost money. I've lost just as much money as if the government had defaulted and told investors they're all getting a haircut and will only receive [background=yellow]half[/background] of the original investment. Either way, I've lost [background=yellow]half [/background]my money.

The difference is that when the government prints money we all get to share in the losses whereas a default would only cause direct losses to those that were insane enough to actually have loaned the government money in the first place.

Printing money is the "last resort" for a sovereign nation, but it's not a solution. It's a stealth default that hurts every individual in the nation. In the case of the dollar, it hurts every individual in the world.

While the chances of a technical outright default by the U.S. are, in theory, slim to none, the risk of the government trying to print its way out of this situation are extremely high. That represents a very real risk to investors and it's entirely appropriate--even long overdue--that S&P warn about it.

If printing money were really a solution to our debt, we would've done it already and our country would be living gloriously debt-free. That we haven't done so is evidence that we can't. The bond market won't let us. The world won't let us. Ultimately, not even American citizens will let our government do this much longer.

Printing money is already costing Americans money on a daily basis. In gas, food, clothing, and most other commodities. All of these are rising in price, mostly absent strong demand, because the Federal Reserve is printing money to finance America's deficit.

Are you invested in U.S. debt? If you're buying anything in the U.S. (gas, food, clothing) the answer is yes. And unlike a bad stock that you can sell to cut your losses, there's no way for you to opt-out of inflation. And once investors see the writing on the wall and dump U.S. bonds, prices will spike even further and each of us will pay the price. But, hey, the U.S. technically won't have defaulted, so we'll be ok, right?

There is no such thing as a free lunch, and printing money is not a free lunch. It's actually the most expensive lunch on the menu. In fact, it's a lunch on the menu that costs twice as much by the end of the meal as it did when you ordered it.

The myth that printing money is any kind of a solution must be dispelled.

Printing money is a default. It's a gradual default that we're already all paying for every time we go to the gas station. Or buy food. Or clothes.

And Hoffa is a republican supporter, they endorsed republican candidates for President, and the IBT is a raiding organization, not a labor union, they are corrupt criminals overseen by the Feds and the IAM beat them at US and they forged cards at AA.

Get a better source, lol.
