Her Royal Thighness

A Clinton/Obama ticket would be a very powerful one for rthe Democrats. Odds are that Clinton will run in the primaries as a strong lefty to appease the base, then once she has clinched the nomination, she would pick Obama as a running mate to appease the black voters who have increasingly felt alienated by the Democratic party over the last few years, as well, supposedly, to help in the moderate swing votes, as that is how Obama will be painted. Obama, for his part, will probably run as a low key candidate in the primaries, attacking Clintons main rivals and "inadvertantly" making statements and taking actions that will benifit Clinton in the final elections.
On the flip side, A McCain/Rice, or Gullianne/Rice ticket will help the Republicans in gaining the Moderate/Black/female vote.
A key thing to remember is that the Democrat victory this november was a mile wide, but only an inch deep. By favoring a withdrawal/defeat mentality in Iraq, they have positioned themselves as having the most to gain over the deaths of American troops. They also have the most to gain in a failing US economy. It is in thier best interest to do all they can to ensure the maximum US casualties, and to inflict the most damage on the economy. Sooner or later, despite Big Media's efforts to the contrary, this singular fact is going to dawn on most analytical thinking Americans. This is the elephant in the bedroom NO ONE seems to want to admit. A US defeat in Iraq, and a failing economy, are the Democrats biggest desires right now. These two things will give them a MUCH deeper victory than the one they got in Nov 2006.
On the flip side, The Republicans are running terrified from big media. There isnt a single Republican hopeful who has shown the courage to stand up and endure the absolute onslaught of hate coverage that big media will throw at him or her. They are disjointed and demoralized, and live in perpetual fear of the media. In short...gutless!

I don't think Obama would run as Clinton's VP. That would be a career-buster for him. Sure, Clinton may have some support; but if you don't like her, you HATE her. Obama, has the ability to gain support from the middle-leaning right... and he would not want to jeopardize that by joining hands with Clinton.

A Clinton/Obama ticket will never happen at least not in my opinion. Clinton, aside from being hated by the right, is a woman. This country is still far to sexist to accept a female as President. Obama will not make the ticket either. It will be said because he is too green and has not experience. Reagan was Governor of CA and Bush was Governor of TX for about as much time as Obama has been in the Senate so as far as I am concerned, that does not hold any water. He will not make the ticket because he is black. This country will not have a black leader in the White House an more than they would have a woman. My guess is that the ticket will have someone generic and non-offensive like Edwards on it. As for McCain, I doubt he will make it either. He has pissed off your conservative base and he flip flops quite a bit. He is starting to suck up to the conservative base but I doubt they will endorse him unless they have a gun to their head.

Part of me would love to see a Dem Congress and a republican Pres. That way you guys can be stuck with Iraq and what ever other nations W pisses off in the next 2 years while the Dems can control the purse strings and limit the damage that a republican Pres can do to the Federal bench. Rice? No way, she has her finger prints all over Iraq. That alone will shut her out. OH yea, and she is a black woman. The southern Baptists want women to be subservient and you want them to elect one as VP?

Clinton/Obama would make for a very interesting ballot, but I would give pigs a better chance of learning to fly than C/O of winning an election.

For the for seeable future (at least another 20-30 years would be my guess) only men need apply for a position. Maybe in 10-20 years a black might sneak in to the VP slot but I would be surprised.

Not advocating the credibility of the poll or suggesting that U.S. voters will vote for a black leader; but thought I would share it. This was in a recent study:

Is America ready for a black president?

CNN
All respondents
Yes: 62%
No: 34%

Whites
Yes: 65
No: 31

Blacks
Yes: 54
No: 42

Newsweek (All)
Yes: 56
No: 30

Gallup (All)
Yes: 58
No: 40

CNN poll conducted Dec. 5-7, Newsweek poll conducted Dec. 6-7, and Gallup poll conducted Sept. 21-24. The margin of sampling error is plus or minus 4 percentage points for CNN and Newsweek and 3 percentage points for Gallup.

Obama has that charisma that sways voters alone without any forethought.
Hillary flips too much for her own good and America knows it.See shes already Kerrying out on her vote for the war
Black or woman in the White House?? I wouldn't discount that at all.Jesse and Arnold proved just about anything can happen in the good 'ol USA...Hulkster for Prez?
All a presidential run becomes is a marketing strategy..Its all how you package the product and whether or not they appeal to the public.

Clinton/Obama would make for a very interesting ballot, but I would give pigs a better chance of learning to fly than C/O of winning an election.

BTW- DON'T COUNT YOUR CHICKENS

I agree it is packaging. While Obama and Clinton are electable in their own area, on a national level I do not think it will happen. Yes Jessy and Arnold are an oddity but they have company. Reagan was pres of the actors guild before becoming the CA gov. Eastwood made mayor in some small town. David Duke was elected to something way back when (I forgot what and he is not worth the google effort) but none of these people would pass muster on the national level even with Rove steering the ship.

I still stand by my point that this country is not ready for a woman, a black or a black woman in the white house. Eventually it will happen but not in the near (read 4 or 5 election cycles) future. At least that is my opinion anyway.

Please Lord, not Hillary - she's a Republican in sheep's clothing.

She sat on the board of Wal-Mart.
She's pro-NAFTA and free trade.
She could pick the law firm she wanted to work for (one of the nation's top attorneys) and she choose this one.

http://www.roselawfirm.com/practice/management.asp

"We represent management in all forms of state and federal litigation involving claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the American with Disabilities Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act. We practice before governmental agencies, including, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, the Mine and Safety Health Administration, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and other Department of Labor agencies. We also advise clients on union avoidance, organizing campaigns and union representation elections."

She also signed the bankruptcy bill.

Does she sound like a friend of working folks to you?

There are three reasons Reps are pimping Hillary.

1. She will electrify their base, causing
2. Record campaign contributions, and
3. At heart, she's one of them. The lot of working people will diminish under Hillary, as will what's left of the Constitution.

Please Dio...now I got Cooties.
I wouldn't go that far....Hillary is a political opportunist....'hooray for my side'.Much like Kerry, positioning herself for her best interests, not yours or mine.Notice all of the sudden shes two stepping on her support of the war?Pissing of the lefties in her party and will hurt contributions. So shes got to reposition.
Thats what all these Pol's do now...sell themselves off as centrists, get elected, then go back to whichever side they were before. You and me then are screwed.....caveat emptor 😉
As for the Wal Mart thing...Kerry's old lady probably got her that job.

The reason they are pimping her is they realize they can win against her and her ideals. Her backround isn't going to get her welcomed into the Republican Party with open arms....She's seen with three sixes on her forehead in that party..believe me.

She was a "Goldwater girl" in 1964. Just goes to show that old Barry was right...a conservative of his ilk in 1964 would be considered a liberal today.

If can disregard the source, this is a pretty good article about her.

Hmmm...good article...even considering the source.

Man of many faces..I mean woman

America is ready to elect a black president, says Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. AP

If Condo says it ... it must be true. Barack in 2008! Otherwise I will settle for another Chicagoan, Oprah!

Geesh, isn't Hilary from Chicago too. I cannot lose; Chicago will be well-represented nationally.

If she isn't already, she may be looking at property

I don't care what ethnic backround a canidate comes by,only they got what it takes when the merde hits the ventilateur 😉

Dell,

The fundies have about run moderate Republicans out of the party.

Hils would fit in quite well with the Rockerfeller/Ford/Dole wing of the Rep. party, if it still existed.

You are absolutely correct that the fundie wing of the party would rather abort their children than have Hils as president.

But the money wing (and despite their advertising, Bush, Cheney and Rove are of the money wing) could live with Hillary. She marches with them on money matters.

Plus, I don't see Hillary rolling back warrantless domestic spying or restoring habeus corpus. She'd be too busy turning it to her advantage, and that is a thought that should give Republicans touting her pause. If she actually won (God forbid), paybacks would truly be a b*&$h.

In short, just like her, Bush and company are political opportunists and like the Dems, will do almost anything to insure party dominance and survival in the White House. It would alienate masses of Rep's if she flipped and joined the GOP.She already rubs elbows with the likes of Murdoch and Cain. One thing, you never can say never in this world anymore.
