I think I can hold a line when they add more flights this summer????

my Seniority is 6/14/83...

can I hold a block of international???

I only want to know.... Cuz I will have to drive it...

from DCA...

lots of traffic..... will not really be able to fly it...

cuz there are many way more senior to me that will be flying it... they are back here in DCa for the winter but will go back for the summer...

any thoughts would be appreciated...

Thankz

PHL DCA is actually a pretty easy commute flying if you are a blockholder. I know plenty of people who never had too many problems.

If you transfer to PHL and plan on commuting in the summer, I would just pay attention to the weather. But, you will need to look at the long range forcast. All it takes is for some type of weather to enter the PHL space and everything stops. So, if the weather looks great for the week, I would chance it and fly with a back up. If the weather looks lousy , I would drive. By the way, when the weather is bad in the DCA-PHL area, they cancel and combine flights, so that's another reason to watch the weather.

I am no longer a US flight attendant, but I commuted ORF-DCA and ORF-BWI until 1996. I had to drive on many occasions. I was always alert to the weather. Even when a load on a flight looks good, bad weather can make or change a commuters chances.

Good Luck and keep us posted!! Sonny

I say go for it. I've done this commute and it's not so bad. You should fly when possible because the drive is really bad through the worst section of the beltway. Driving will be necessary sometimes. The train is not a good option unless you live close to the station because of the hassle factor at both ends. You should be able to hold an international line--maybe lGW/SNN and then Sap, Swap or ETB. PHL also has trips that originate and/or terminates as DHs. Lots of options. DCA has nothing. I miss PHL. Look through the PHL trip sheets and maybe someone will let you look at catcrew so you'll get a better idea about who holds what.
