How did Huckabee get this far?

He caters tot the religious right. Fortunately for us and unfortunately for him, they are no longer the power they once were. As seen in the NH, MI elections. He had a miserable showing. And when he goes around saying that he wants to mold the US Const. in the bible image .. blah blah blah. That ought to scare off most of the sane people who thought he might be a good option.
Sad thing is I actually like a hand full of his ideas. Such as eliminating the birth right to citizenship thing. Still, he is way too much of a religious fruit cake for my liking and I am guessing a majority of the voting public is sick of the religious right having so much power in politics. We have seen what they have done over the past 7 years and I believe the public want’s them along with W out of power.

I often feel the same way. I agree with many things he has said, such as his proposed stance on Iran and his stand against a government bail-out in the mortgage mess. But then he will come out of nowhere and same some wacky things... he is unpredictable. Unpredictability is often catastrophic in our nation.

So? What does that have to do with Huckabee wanting to amend the Const? He believes that women should be submissive to their husbands. Do you think the 83% believe in that as well? There is a seperation of church and state in the US Const for a reason.
With hair brained ideas like that he has not got a snow balls chance in hell of making to POTUS. He will be a foot note in the history books (if he is lucky).

Care to show the board where he wants to amend the constitutions framework in the context you describe?
I don't support all of Huckabees views either, however you would do well to study the Bible before you go shooting off at the mouth about someones beliefs. But Of course, how would an avowed atheist understand the meaning/words of GOD?

Do NOT forget...so far, NO MORE than less than 200,000 Americans (from 305,000,000, MILLION, we don't KNOW HOW MANY ILLEGAL ALIENS are in the country for sure) FROM rural areas have voted....which IS MEANINGLESS. (no offense, as I LOVE the country!)

I went to his web site so I could learn more about him. And there is very little posted about his life. Such as, where was he born?, and when? (how old is this guy?) who are his parents?, are they still alive?, does he have siblings?, where did he go to school?, and which seminary did he attend? Did he get ordained over the internet?

He doesn't want to run (does not want to put his family through the grinder)...but has NOT ruled it out.
He is from a lower working class American family (many generations), like so many of us. He holds dear the lessons of his (my father/and dear mother, from the GREAT DEPRESSION.) work hard, educate yourself, BELIEVE in yourself and humanity, use COMMONSENSE above ALL ELSE, and you will be be OK.
And NEVER forget the struggles of ALL AMERICANS...especially those whom where cheated out of Freedom and Future in the beginning!

How MIKE got this far, is a rather easy (exercise) answer.
He's a descendant Of a people and a religion that came to the shores of Jamestown Va., in 1607.
Just as the colonists were WRONG to surmise that their religion should be the "law of the land" back then, MIKE is just trying to "keep it going".
The real problem is, that the poor guy(MH) thinks what he's doing is RIGHT. I don't really think that anyone EVER told "MIKE" that his religion, as it pertains to the "law of the land", has progressed via the FALSE PROPHETS of days gone by, using the FALSE belief of "Manifest Destiny !
But...HEY, if one can profit from a Corrupt Government, whether it be 1607 or 2007, (what the heck)...go for it !

I do not associate with women who are submissive. I prefer the company of strong women who have the ability to stand behind their beliefs and convictions. My wife will go toe to toe with me if she believes I am wrong and I will go toe to tow with her if I feel she is wrong. The day she submits to me is the day I get a divorce.
If belief in the submission of women is the majority belief, I will be more than happy to be a minority of one. I will always fight for the right of a woman to lead her life as she chooses free of any constraints.
Like I said, I am pretty sure Huckabee is history. He is way to right wong for this country. They have had enough of religion in government.
