How does AQ affect AA?

Wow it sure woud have been nice to see AAs 717s bouncing around the Hawian islands.I can dream.

I know this sounds cold, but I wonder if their 737s would fit AAs specs?

By the way, JJ, I don't understand the phrase "AA's 717s." The only 717s we had were from TWA and they have all been returned to the lessors. Did you mean Aloha 717s repainted in our livery?

Problem is that the 717 would probably be just the right size for those routes. We would just get rid of them and turn the routes over to AE.

Only one of Aloha's 737's is an exact match, and that was on a short-term lease until April, so it's probably out of the picture altogether. They've got eight -700's which are a close match but with less seating capacity, and a dozen -200's which aren't even Stage 3 compliant because interisland was exempted from the requirement. They've also got 5 of the -200QC's which have the full size cargo door immediately aft of L1, and can be converted to a pax config by loading seats mounted on pallets (the conversion takes an hour or so).

The older -200's are pretty much worthless. High cycles in a corrosive environment...

BTW, there are no AQ 717's. You're thinking of Hawaiian, which is moderately solvent right now.

My gut feeling is the 700's are on their way to Love Field as we speak

While we are discussing this I guess we should not forget that a lot of people at Aloha are going through a rough time right now. Best of luck to them.
