How many jobs cut on the heels of Q4 loss?

"Read your contract...you get 1 week for every year of service/max 15 weeks. You're asking the union to request an across the board $$ package? What are you smok'in. I'll bet you have at least 100 people in PHX who haven't paid their DUES? Maybe you should have "Motioned" that at your local lodge meeting."

all i'm suggesting is that anyone we let go get at LEAST this amount .... i'm not saying that if you've worked here 15 years you should see severance reduced ...

please note mike that i'm not simply talking about union workers here , i also would like to see a floor pacakge for non unizoned workers at CHQ or anywhere else of at least 2 months ..

15 weeks maximum seems really chincy, especially considering how senior some of you folks are. Is that just for union employees? What is the severance policy for non-union employees?

At my company we get 1 week for every year we've worked, and after we've been employed for 10 years we get 2 weeks for every year we've worked, up to a maximum of 52 weeks. Normally in a mass layoff situation the severance packages would exceed the corporate severance policy (i.e. 6 months minimum, up to a maximum of 18 months).

All bets are off if you are under contract, though. If your contract is not renewed, you get nada. (I'm a 17-year employee who had to waive my right to severance when I signed my contract in July. 🙄 )

Of course.....let us hope that we are just contemplating a doomsday scenario which does not happen.....even though it seems like every day we hear about another big company that's cutting jobs in the four figures.

Non-union gets a week for every year, up to 26 weeks.
