Again, at one of those "Major" bases, I was sitting on the airplane when the cleaners came on board.

Now even before this, I saw them rummaging for food, ect. in the carts... now for the new low.

Checked the bathroom in the back.... the trash wasn't taken out (we are going cross country and I sure didn't want 3 hrs of trashed lavs and people putting used napkins back where the new ones are)
So I got to the front and told the cleaner to take the trash out.

"I DON'T KNOW HOW TO TAKE THE TRASH OUT!" she yells.and she really does yell....

"I just don't know how to do it!"

"The trash is never full, besides!"

So I look... it is full.

So I go and tell the agents.

waiting....

waiting....

waiting....

I tell the pilots

waiting....

waiting....

waiting....

later a guy comes on ... and without a word.... just does it.

Then the same girl comes to yell at me because I snitched on her.

It appears she is a supervisor type too....(?)

Is it really worth $8.63 an hour or whatever they are making?

FYI:
Don't leave your personal belongings on the plane and just step out for food. A friend of mine had her stuff missing. Call the cleaners it's "I don't know... I don't know... I don't know...."

Oh you are so right about this and I believe everything about your posting. I also remember before the strike, They (NW) were so hard on the agents to turn the airplane on real short times, the cleaners never get enough time to "do" the job right. The agent is chasing them off the airplane to start PAX loading. The F/A's, obviously not happy with the quality, complain - no good. Then the Capt would get involved and not let anyone board until the airplane was clean. "Well, your gonna get charged with the delay then!", from the agent. The clearners came back.

Tell me Jen, do the pilots have the backbone anymore to stand up for a clean cabin?

SCABS and immagrants, AMFA representing one, IAM the other. You flight attendants had your chance, if you don't like it, walk (Applebees is hiring, less stress and you make tips). And the pilots, they're only in it for themselves, ego-centric a$$holes. Suggestion, take one of those full trash containers in the lavitory and dump it in the cockpit, see how loud they cry then... What a great company to work for, what terrific perks, is it really worth it?

I remember when i did work for the airline we had a plane come in. i pulled the jet bridge up and the flight attendant said "we had somebody get sick" i was like ok what do you want me to get you so i can go help unload the baggage and get this sucker turned ontime. well she gave the go F***k yourself look and said she is not cleaning it. so i had to clean up the mess while one agent is doing planesides and bags while she sat in the front row reading a magazine. most of them couldn't even fix the seat belts for the next flight so we had to go on the plane and do it for them can you say LAZY!!! i used to love slamming the FTL attendants with delays. pilots would call in with the times and i would say "copy and tell the flt attendant that the delay is on her." I would not take a station delay for somebody elses lazyness. Dispatch would always call and ask why the delay?? i would tell them what went on and they said yep put it on the Flt. attendant

Sir, by your rant you just proved that your name is incorrect. Integrity? One that would call names like you without knowing me (I am an NWA pilot) is not worthy of that name. I am one that grew up in the Gov. housing projects and very poor. I have worked my rump off to fly airplanes and I treat people how I want to be treated. I have NEVER in my 20 years at NWA treated an F/A or Mech. poorly. I have always listened to the F/A's and tried my best to make sure they get what they need. It is ALWAYS a team effort. I believe your bitterness is clouding your vision while looking at many fine people here at NWA. I am sick to death of everyone ALWAYS saying that PILOTS are the problem. It is not the people......it is the company!
Oh, and by the way. I am one that did make the company come back to clean the a/c and I did take the delay and I did get called into the C/P. I took the hit for our F/A's wanting the a/c clean and was glad to do it.

These pilots did. They made sure it "happened". We were also missing some supplies and they were passed through the cockpit window (get that one)
We worked together as a team this time. I take care of them, they take care of me. 🙄

How do you like your "team" of scab mechanics? It must feel nice knowing that people who lacked the knowledge, skill, ability, and integrity to be hired by NWA before we went on strike maintain your a/c. I would not fly on a scab piloted or maintained a/c. Nor would I fly on one with a scab f/a crew. Please tell us a story about how you did not write something up so you could get home. On the other hand, how you held the aircraft until you could get enough scabs together to find someone who knew something about the aircraft. How about an in-range call of a bad tire??? Yep, we have had those in the past.

You are right on one point. The company that you now choose to work for created this situation...live with it.

I have to agree with this one. There is always... a few bad apples but I let them know pretty fast what I think.
I think the best thing to do is tell the gate agents consistenly so the right people get in trouble or they figure out this isn't really "working".

I take care of the everyone and make sure they are well. I use to bring ice water to gate agents and even coffee. Now if the mechanics want water, I'll gladly pour it on their heads from the jetway. Can't tell who is a scab or not so oh well.

Onewithintegrity, many of us were willing to walk with the mechanics. We still don't know if the vote was yes or no, since they never published the results (like the previous votings, which was odd)

My guy suggested that I should vote no but I voted yes.

When this strike happened, we worked around it and adjusted our spending, moving, ect. We made it out fine.
Now he has a decent paying job and for now we are hunky-dory.

How's this one. The extra hotplates on certain airplanes are all deactivated.
(this incident was a few months ago) B)
It got a pretty orange sticker and it was deferred. (fuse had a ring around it and stated "deactivated")

So the write up in the book was for a deactivated hot plate that didn't work.

  You get what you paid for!

I went to help in DTW for a couple of weeks showed up for work and they said you got gates blah, blah, blah and blah i said ok. fist plane came in and thay said go up and clean it never been in a crj before walked in there and was like WTF where are the garbages. I asked the crew and they told me they didn't sit back and do nothing and than come a message forum and cry about it....lol

If I had a nickel for everytime that happened....

Used to be that anytime you went up in the cabin an FA would offer coffee or water...Now they check to see what uniform you're wearing first.

Well Sir, I would MUCH rather have the guys that I worked with for 19 years out of DTW. Must say that I am much more aware of logs and maint. write ups and such now days. I look very closely! Before.....I knew the FINE guys that were working on the a/c were the best and I was very comfortable with their professionalism and work. 2101, I have never nor will I ever "NOT" write something in a log book just so I can get home. You said, "IN RANGE CALL FOR A BAD TIRE"---Sir, I am not the sharpest guy around but I am not that stupid nor unprofessional.
P.S. I am one of the ones that brought you guys coffee and doughnuts and prayed for your families and your return.

Yup. I agree. We miss you guys terribly. I was on a flight with an 6 hr maintenance delay. I told my guy what the problem is and he said "Is that IT?" and "Why is it taking so long?"

Heard from a pilot complaining about what they tell them, like "It's Okay! It's OKAY! Plane can go... never mind the leak.... " and it wasn't okay with them and it says so in the manual too.

I think alot of pilots who are dealing with them are fed up. Look out returning class of furloughees!

You stated someone should show the person how to change
the garbage. I am assuming you mean take it off the
aircraft. Flight attendants should not have to train
ramp employee on this process. If the flight attendant
attempts to remove trash out of the galley and while
doing this spills some on some on their uniform what
happens for the next 3 days while on the trip. Just
stink up the cabin for the next 10 flights.

What are you doing HELPING in DTW. You should be back
in your home station working not leaving them short
staffed. Actually your fellow workers are probably
glad to get rid of you for a couple of weeks.

Though I am neither a Flight Attendant or work at NWA, The ranter about flight attendants not cleaning, or empying the trash needs to ask him/herself if the F/A is getting paid while sitting on the ground, or if it is in their work rules. I would venture to guess not. Just as the pilot who held boarding until it was cleaned was not being paid. It is sad that these folks have to wait around to get paid, while an incompetent who is, cannot do their job without running their mouth.
