Pay is frozen for 2 years 17.00....then goes up I think to 18.60
contract runs until 2011 or 2012
No double time
No holiday pay
No option 2
No customer contact
Vacation maybe 4 weeks not sure on this one...
Buy out without the 25% of takers to make it work
but you may not get released for 15 months.
May out source some work not sure how it works but it's not permanent.
Sick time 50% for first 5 days not sure what hasppens after5 days.

I HAVE NOT READ IT..... I AM GETTING SOME INFO OVER THE PHONE......
SO JUST TAKE THIS LIGHTLY

CWA does not have a pension.

I just cut and pasted from the article. The changes in pension could be the termination of the frozen pension, or changes in contributions to their 401K. The article didn't adress specifics.

Deal is in reservations mailboxes, as of last evening....Friday around 9pm...fyi

I think you have it right .... I heard that there's a cost of living raise between $18.60 and 2012, takes you to $19 something.

I think details are in the mail ......

Many of us in customer service and res have pension. It was left over from USAir and frozen in 1991. Small potatos compared to ALPA or IAM, but it's there. I get estimates of payments for my retirement once a year.

Go read your contract and please show me what article and page your pensions is on.

You won't find it, it does not exist. The pension that the non-union people HAD was frozen back in 1992.

You're right, 700. It's not in any CWA contract. It was frozen back then, but money is still there. Even tho the monthly payouts are only about $600 to $700 average. Not enuf to live on, but something extra to have. As of last month, my estimated benefit was $720 at age 62, for life.

I will say this if any of this is true it will get a no vote from me. I have worked to hard and to long.

I dont understand, what do you mean? This sounds pretty good to me, much better than the earlier attempts? Why would you vote no for $18-19 an hour and full vacation pay???

They have a pension....its been frozen since 1992. Those who were hired after, do not.

Now, please keep in mind I am only calculating the proposed hourly wages and have not taken into consideration sick time, vacation, overtime, etc.

CWA's Chris Fox is quoted in the Pittsburgh papers as saying wage cuts average 12.9%.

Here's how it plays out(considering moving back 1 level)

Pay Senority Current Proposed Percentage(-)

12 and 12+ 20.05 17.00 16%
11 20.05 16.30 19%
10 20.05 15.64 22%
9 19.90 14.99 25%
8 18.67 14.36 24%
7 17.92 13.73 24%
6 17.12 12.89 25%
5 16.32 12.08 26%
4 12.40 11.25 10%
3 11.91 10.31 14%
2 11.23 9.79 13%
