If you read on American Forum site. A card drive has started for them to have AMFA represent them. Maybe it is time for change for US as well. This would make the transition in the merger with American allot easier.

IAM is not perfect but at least they have a pension and have always been in favor of date of hire for seniority.

Think I would rather cut my losses now and get rid of the IAM.....as for the mighty IAM pension, only losing about $100/mo...rather dump them now than have them hold the pension issue over our heads for the next 20 yrs!!!

IAM will stay at US and there will be a merger but not with AA. Stay Tuned

They advocated classification seniority during the NW/DL merger...

IIRC, if you are not IAM you loose your IAM pension.
B) xUT

Not sure how it'd work if a group went to another union, but I can say that even after the votes at DL, mine still exists.

The IAM has also used classification seniority in a merger and used DOH for vacation etc...

Like myself I had a hire date for travel and vacation.

I had a Utility classification date and a Stock Clerk one.

I worked under the IAM for nine years and now the TWU for 23 years, I would rather have the TWU, but I prefer something else.
