What's new

If it Did Happen

Employees always suffer during mergers. As many have now discovered, keeping one's job after a merger is only marginally better than losing it by going out of business.

Speaking of employees, I wonder how many people showed up for the Flight Attendant open house in Phx today. Those who live outside of the PHX area had to find their own way to the interview What can this new group of employees expect?

In terms of network, especially with PIT being downsized, I think NW is a better fit.

yep... I don't think that the PIT downsizing has anything to do with merger plans, but it certainly wouldn't have any indication of a merger with United..... perhaps NWA....... perhaps.

UA + US = TW as in train wreck!

I just can't see the pilots of US wanting to go through the seniority list again. A hub at PHL and IAD and 3 western hubs. There will be a lot of layoffs. just my thoughts...........

Don't think it will happen, Tilton does want consolidation and so does Parker, but I don't think he has his eyes on US. I would say he has his eyes on DAL and CAL.. From the last onboard message, UAL is looking to be an acquirer. At least thats what they want us to think <_<

Not to mention that UAL is hiring pilots of the street. Looks like the furloughed pilots would get a bad case of deja vu.
