If the 700 billion dollar bailout fails , what’s next ?

Well now....if you REALLY want to get down to the root cause of this madness vs. who was "responsible" for fixing it.

Let's start with the insane, obsession of DE-REGULATING the banking and finance industry, of which BUSH/CHENEY/ and McCain have worked OVERTIME on starting from 2000. They have erased laws...UNDER a Republican Congress that took decades to establish. All in the name of "Free Wheeling".

How strange it is that we find this happening with ANOTHER Bush in the limelight...just like, oh, you remember "Silverado Savings and Loan" and the other Bush (how many HUNDREDS of BILLIONS did that one cost the American Taxpayer). I guess it's just coincidence.

And just for some sugar on top...HEDGE FUNDS are STILL un regulated! Notice the segment that the Bush crew protested the MOST...CEO payout.

The Bush Administration AND the Republican Congress OWNS this disaster LOCK STOCK and BARREL!

I’ve read the thread … when I posted this , I fully believed that the bill would PASS … I simply posted this to question if it would be effective or not …. I was in utter shock when I heard it failed … this is a momentous day … this bill NEEDED to pass … it would have bought us valuable time .

To those of you talking about the next great depression and saying that our society “needs†this .. It will teach the greedy people a lesson … you have no idea what your talking about , and to those who think our system will simply reset after enough pain and time have passed , your completely , utterly wrong …

The only people who will not be affected by this are the people who have almost nothing now ….

If you have a second house , and this next depression should come about , kiss it good bye ….

If any one of you thinks for a second that I and others will stand idly by while millions upon millions of Americans are kicked out of their houses onto the streets homeless while there are vacant houses to shelter them , then your dead wrong ..

You can kiss your property rights goodbye …..

i may have to revise my estimates down from 3-4 years to perhaps 2 years ... it could be as little as year and a half .... but i'm hoping i'm wrong and we still have 3 years before totall collapse ....

I swear , I’m going to do what ever it takes to stop our downfall … I will stop at nothing to ensure that our way of life continues …

By that I mean our American culture of working hard and getting ahead , our culture of friends and families getting together on thanks giving to share a meal …. everything that we cherish and enjoy now that’s not related to money will go on …. But money , economics as we know it , is going to end and be replaced .

A little injection of socialism into the housing industry from both sides of the aisle and we get this.....and we want the same government wonks running our health system?

Oh,I'm sure they won't let anything like this happen ever.

The truly sad part is that most of the people who will have to pay this bill haven't been born yet. Between the lack of oversight over the markets in the last 8 years coupled with the "off the books" costs of the War to Make Iraq Safe for Halliburton, the debt for future generations built up by Bush and company will take many years to pay off, if ever.

Makes me once again glad that my wife and I decided not to have children. I would be ashamed at the debt we are passing to them and their children and their childrens' children.

If you're less than ten years from retirement.....they may tell you there's no money, you're on your own.

I hate to say it, but. This country needs another great depression to reset the "greed" clock. It seems everything has been hooked into gambling  aka the stock and futures markets. Didn't anyone learn anything from the year 1929? All the paper pushers are going to be in the soup line now and get a heavy dose of reallity. I might lose my job as an airline mechanic, but there is all types of machinery out there to be repaired. No soup line for me and no debts either.

Voting this bailout "scam" down is in the best interest of this country.

Gotta love it ! All the people yelling, " NO BAIL-OUT, NO BAIL-OUT !" Will be screaming "WHERE'S MY JOB, WHERE'S MY JOB!" in six months !

A bunch of those who rejected are up for re-election this fall. This might never pass.

And Pelosi ticked of the GOP by trying to blame this all on Bush, when the Dem's blew a chance to fix this in 2005

Yes, she does seem to have a problem keeping her PIE-HOLE shut at the appropriate time !
