She touts McCain as a 'maverick' yet she does not have a single example of him being a maverick.

The fact that she is right next door to Russia and Canada gives her 'international experience' but we still do not know why? And from the sounds of the interview, neither does she.

She is an embarrassment to this country. I would feel better with Quayle as the running mate.

Palin doing her thing ......

Then there is McCain. He bailed on Letterman. The fact that he bailed apparently was not the problem. The fact that he lied directly to Letterman about having to hop onto a plane to DC but actually doing an interview with Couric. Suffice to say Letterman was a bit ticked off and proceeded to unload. And unload. And unload.

he really funny thing is that McCain said he did not feel it was appropriate to do 'comedy' during a crisis but apparently it was OK to do comedy the day the levies broke in New Orleans.

I'm telling you, McCain realizes what an idiot she is and wants to throw the election without embarreassing her! He's a true patriot and a gentleman!

You think he is falling on the sword? I feel bad for the guy. He seemed like one of the few politicians on Capital hill that had an ounce of integrity. Had he received the nomination back in 2000 I think I would have voted for him. I did not see eye to eye with him on all the issues but he was close enough. I don't know what happened to him along the way. I don't know if he just listened to the wrong people, if he genuinely lost his way, if he just got power hungry and decided that POTUS was worth what he believed in. But somewhere along the line he lost who he was. He started to suck up the the fringe right wing, caved into Bush and sold out what made him real.

OH well, C'est la vie.

I do think he is falling on his sword and I agree with you on everything else.!

At one time, I thought this country couldn't go wrong with either candidate. But at the same time republicans thought he was too liberal for their tastes.
Enter Palin to woo the far right. Exit everyone else as soon as she opened her mouth!

He may be a healthy 72 but the stress of 2 wars and a potential depression could stop his ticker. I'll bet he knows this.

Perhaps back in 2000 McCain had integrity, but the way he has shifted pretty much 180 degrees on most issues in less than a year - he was dead last in the GOP primary until he "adopted" the GOP platform.

Even as a democrat, I've never been a huge fan of Obama. If McCain had stuck to his beliefs, I probably would have voted for him ..UNTIL Palin. She just keeps proving day after day that her addition to the ticket was purely political. Why didn't he choose Romney or Lieberman? Becuase the hard-core conservatives woudlnt' like it. Why should that stop him? It's not like those conservatives would vote for Obama.

At least Obama choosing Biden was anything but political. I wish he had picked Hillary, and she is qualified to be VP, but he doesn't like her that much. If he had picked her, his main motivation would have been to solidify the party.
