Illegal Aliens now breaching our military bases

But if Mexico is to reclaim the U.S. Southwest, how will it be done?

Spencer believes that with the increasing unrest along the U.S.-Mexican border, the U.S. Border Patrol will eventually become overwhelmed, requiring the U.S. Army to take action. With increasing unrest and military presence all along the border, the current border will be erased and a new border zone stretching 150 miles from the current border into the United States will be put in place.

Although this may sound impossible, President Clinton has already issued an executive order that could put such a border zone in place.

Executive Order 13122, signed by the president May 25, 1999, established an Interagency Task Force on the Economic Development of the Southwest Border. The purpose of the task force is to "coordinate and better leverage existing Administration efforts for the Southwest Border, in concert with locally led efforts to increase the living standards and the overall economic profile of the Southwest Border so that it may achieve the average of the Nation."

Down toward the bottom of the executive order, it adds, "The Southwest Border or Southwest Border region is defined as including the areas up to 150 miles north of the United States-Mexican border in the States of Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and California."

Spencer believes this inclusion in the executive order is little more than a mechanism of NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) to erase the border by creating a border "zone" instead of a border line.

"It’s an attempt to gradually erase the border," Spencer said.

No to mention getting jobs at sensitive areas, like airports. ICE could have a field day at LAX, PHL, EWR, NYC, etc.

The one downside to a Dem congress is they'll make a deal with Bush on amnesty.

In my view, I'd heavily fine employers, and there would be NO social services to non-citizens.

Oh it gets much better, under the pact that Bush signed in 2004 illegals will be elgible for social security benefits with only 18 months of work history, whereas an American citizen must show 10 years before they are be elgible.

Its time to sweep Washington D.C. clean of these two parties which have no idea nor care of what the citizens of this country need or wants.

Fantastic!!!

Let’s quit this bipartisan bull#### and get on the same page. IMHO, these ‘politicians’ have been dividing ‘US’ far too much and we all jump into the ‘party’ wagon. I’m registered as an ‘Independent’ because both republicrats and democans have melded into the same ‘Screw the American’ party! He$$, even Bush Daddy and Clinton are in a love fest and ‘Hillary announced her interest (surprise here?). If we vote in any of these idiots, we get what we deserve.

We need new meat!!!

It has been said that half the truth is worse than a lie. In this case, your claim is not even half true.

The proposed amendment, which did not pass, would have prevented undocumented aliens who may later get legal status from receiving benefits for the time they worked illegally.

Your snopes test, although related, is regarding something different. In fact, there has been a 'totalization agreement' between the United States and Mexico. However, in contrast to what Local 12 indicated, Bush has yet to sign the agreement (as of Jan. 17). Rather, it was signed by the U.S. Commissioner of Social Security. The agreement still must be approved by the State Department before advancing to the White House. If the president then signs this agreement, Congress will have 60 legislative days to reject it. If neither the House nor the Senate rejects, the agreement will go into effect.

With that said, on January 4 of this year a resolution (H. Res. 18) was sponsored expressing disapproval by the House of Representatives of the totalization agreement. It has since been referred to the House Committee on Ways and Means. Basically, this is preparation in case Bush decides to sign the agreement.

Do you know any politicians who have the guts to do this???? Certainly not the President.
They (the politicians) nor the current president have the desire to crack down. Its all part of the plan just as diogenes points out in the above link.

while our sovereignty as a Nation is about to be stolen right out from under our noses, many in this country are more concerned with rushing home from work in order to catch the next episode of American Idol.

Co-chair Pedro C. Aspe, former Finance Minister of Mexico, said, "We need a vision for North America to address the new challenges." This vision actually refers to the nightmare of the FTAA (Free Trade Area of the Americas). What NAFTA didn’t do to destroy the America middle class the FTAA will surely complete. Bush has been avidly promoting CAFTA, the stepping stone to FTAA. It is completely in the worst possible interests of the American people. It will be devastating to the American economy!

Your right about one thing, we deserve what we get.

Local 12,

I also read that press release from the U.S. Embassy in 2005. It was very interesting and I am glad you refreshed my memory to the existence of the "Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America," which includes the US, Canada, and Mexico.

I have a bit of a different take on it though. At first glance, it appears that such a partnership will bolster the destruction of our border with Mexico (including the benefits that would go to non-US citizens.) However, after reading the press release more carefully, I came to the conclusion that although this partnership is interested in a future North America that competes better with the European Union, it is more interested in creating a better Mexico than to entice more Mexican nationals from jumping our borders. A better Mexico, in turn, should entice more Mexican Nationals to stay in Mexico and make a suitable living in that country, rather than working illegally in our country and eventually taking US benefits.

This conclusion is evidenced by the following statements in the press release: (1) Restructure and reform Mexico's public finances; (2) Fully develop Mexican energy resources to make greater use of international technology and capital; (3) Establish a North American Investment Fund to build infrastructure to connect Mexico's poorer regions in the south to the market to the north.

Thus, these measures, if taken at face value, should create a better Mexico, allowing Mexican Nationals to stay in their former poor regions rather than moving, illegally, to the US in search for greener pastures. Furthermore, the press release suggests that a better, prosperous Mexico will inherently benefit the US because of the semi-intertwined economies.

Crackdown on Illegal Workers
This is the loophole: business giving a wink and a nod to illegals using bogus IDs in order to obtain work at legitimate businesses in the United States, and it is waaaaay past time we started cracking down on it:

Federal agents targeting illegal immigrants raided meatpacking plants in six states yesterday, arresting hundreds of workers on the uncommon charge of identity theft and shutting down the world's second-largest meat processing company for much of the day.
About 1,000 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents with search warrants entered plants owned by Swift & Co., of Greeley, Colo., charging that "large numbers" of workers illegally assumed the identities of U.S. citizens or legal residents by using their Social Security numbers to get work, ICE officials said.

Company and union officials said agents, some dressed in riot gear, locked down six beef- and pork-processing plants early in the morning, segregating workers into groups of citizens and non-citizens after questioning. Some illegal workers were bused to detention facilities hours away, labor officials said.

ICE officials would not say how many people were arrested, pending a news conference today in Washington. About 90 percent of Swift's 15,000 U.S. employees work in three shifts at the plants, company officials said.

The crackdown was another step in the federal government's campaign against illegal immigration, and like some recent raids it targeted job sites, the magnet drawing many of the nearly 12 million illegal immigrants.

delldude I agree lately it seems more action is being taken and that it was not exactly accurate to imply that (nothing) is being done. however IMO it is merely for show and not a genuine attempt to reverse the flow or even to slow the leak, its like trying to fix the water damaged ceiling before you fix the leaking roof while its raining. Until our government makes a purposeful and genuine attempt to stop the influx at the border we will never gain the upper hand.
