I flew TPA-CUN and it was cleary stated no photography while over Cuba and Cuban airspace by the flight crew.

About 12 years ago or so, I flew into St. Petersburg Russia. We were warned not to take pictures of the airport as we were coming in to the gate.

Funny stuff, all that 1948 technology and beaten down wooden structures and dilapidated shacks around the terminal. Lord knows we didn't want to be spying on that quality stuff!

Notice that it says "carrying photographic equipment". If that applied to passengers, they couldn't even carry their camera with them in checked baggage. I strongly suspect that if you choose to interpret that language in the strictest of terms, every flight thru Cuban airspace is in violation.

Okay, I stepped off on a limb and am flying to Jamaica next week. (On business, albeit.)

I'm nervous about flying cross country, and then being south of Cuba. (Just isn't a natural feeling!)

facts about what? not being able to take pictures while your flying over cuba? you need to get the facts because it says that you are not aloud to carry photographic equipment . it doesen't say you cannot take pictures.
