Yes, I know that I have kvetched a lot about US on these pages. But in the spirit of the season, let us each post something good.

Here goes 9 (not in any particular order):

-US/HP is still in business!
-QIK/SHARES has been improved... (thank goodness)
-The CWA folks in the "Mainline Express" stations, along with the westies, no longer top out at $13.01/hr.
-Customers report that Envoy service is much better.

I didn't get furloughed yet. Sorry, but Dougs "feel good" publication did nothing but depress me about the Company.

Today we had the inauguration flight to MBJ from PHX , Doug parker showed up and gave a speech which I didn’t get to hear ,along with I’m told the mayor of PHX ..

you guys should have seen what they did to the gate area , mini palm trees , balloons everywhere , free food and drink for the PAX , they even had a live Jamaican band! It was a breath of fresh air to see our company go all out to create a memory for our passengers and workers . I’ ve never seen anything like what they did today in all my time in the aviation industry , it got me thinking that perhaps we should pull stunts like this more often … ( just think of the passenger perception impact vs. cost of event , get a generic flat screen TV , show pictures of the destination , offer some really cheap food aka fruit, throw up some balloons , offer cheap coffee and bring in an inexpensive band and we could replicated today’s events at little out of pocket cost , what we did today we could do in every major hub 3 or 4 times a month using the same or very similar equipment with ease, without the dog and pony trick being called out . )

Anyhow , in closing , I’ve never seen anything so customer positive at any company anywhere

Add that many reputable sources are saying 2010 will be a better, if not profitable, year for all the major airlines. They are even giving US a real chance at survival (for at least '10). Also the fact that US express will be serving my hometown of MLB starting Feb 10.

I like this. Let's make this a long thread.

US still has great employees who care about doing a good job. Happy Holidays to all of my friends who are US Employees!!! 🙂

We all still get a paycheck.... its on time..... We all are alive and get to go to work each and everyday!!!

The alternative is that you cant get out of bed.... or walk... or talk.... So be thankful for that first...
Second ... that you have a job....
third.... that you get paid for it.....

IMHO

There's still a chance we could find a merger partner and get rid of the folks in Tempe

I'd give all the presents under my tree for a merger and new leadership. I'm thankfull for 1. My health 2. My family THEN 3. my paycheck from the beloved wonders of Tempe. They're a #3 on my list. May we all have a better 2010. We all deserve it. HAPPY HOLIDAYS ! !

* Travelpro72
* the Ticket Agent in LAX who got me on my flight in time over memorial day weekend several years ago
* the PHL Gate Agent who used to sing on the PA in the gate area
* the LGA gate agent a few years ago who got me on a connecting flight before it was missed because he was looking out for me
* Gwynn (sp?) on the CP desk agent who called me on my cell a few years ago to tell me she found a flight, after I hung up, that would work for me
* the FA on a flight a few years ago that showed me a photo album of her "girls" in the galley
* Reds, the CLT f/a who made my trip home from Barbados several years ago bearable
* All the F/A's who make the Galley Thread possible
.....and last but not least, Legacy-to-LCC for, well, I'm not sure 😉

OK now let me see.

The BWI club rep who qorked way to long to get me to BTR in time for my meeting. This woman is a freaking Goddess.

Our US Aviation Colleague Dea Certe, arguably the best F/A in the world and a damn good friend.

Theodora Xidas, 'nuff said

My contacts with in the various unions who helped me keep US on their toes.

I'm stopping here as there are so many wonderful people. I do want to single out someone.

I was on the "C" concourse during the "kissed by a Cockroach" tour and all of the other FFOCUS activities.

There was one G/A who saw me and asked "Are you xxxx" I replied,"Yes" and he responded with "Thank you soooo much for trying to save our jobs."

I was and am touched to this very day

This is the funnest and enjoyablest job I've ever had. I will be forever enriched by the great variety of people I have met and worked with and the things that I have seen. Yes, US Airways might be a stubborn, dysfunctional, schizophrenic underdog of an airline, but gosh darnit, it's our stubborn, dysfunctional, schizophrenic underdog.

Though it's been said many times, many ways...

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! Like the edit!

US Airways is made up of many groups with diverse backgrounds and beginnings which make this airline great. I look forward to AWA being fully integrated into this dysfunctional family, soon!

Merry Christmas and Long Live US Airways!
