What's new

In the spirit of the holidays

I was given a "furlough or transfer" proposition early this year and ended up moving to a station where the people are much nicer and the shift managers 100X more competent and people-friendly. Don't miss the toxic work environment. Think I'll send my old station a bag of coal and some rubber dog droppings.

I am thankful to all that I work with. For it is my fellow employee's who make the job bearable. The pax's who continue to amaze me with their thoughts and actions bringing me hours of conversation pieces. A paycheck that continues to shrink but still comes. A board in which to vent. And most of all my health. We have lost some great people this year to health issues. May god continue to bless all of you, and have a joyous holiday.

My opinion, and I hope all of yours...

I'm thankful for the professionalism of the crew of 1549 who saved 150 lives, and their own this year -
For our Dividend Miles members who stick it out with us - for the Chairman's Preferred loyalty
For the humor of my fellow crew member friends
For the safety of our aircraft and the mechanics to take careful steps to keep us out of harm's way up there
For the bag handlers who lug that heavy luggage for our pax
For the agents who go above and beyond
For the Piedmont agents who run 35A and 35B in DCA and for the Air Wisconsin pilots who offer to take the jumpseat so I can non-rev home when the flight is full
For my vacation to Europe this year that, without SA4 I could never afford
For the cold air up north and the warm air down south when we open that airplane door
For my supervisor, who "gets it" and takes care of business
For our LEC president
For progress on our contract this year
For the gentleness of the passengers who touch my heart with their stories and kindness
For fresh lav service on the baby Boeing
For passing recurrent
For the captain who bought the first round
For the love of watching planes take off and land
For having a job into 2010...

With all of the downs & ups of this industry;
I am thankful to still do the job that I love.
For the passengers who DON'T complain
and finally for my wonderful fellow crew members in a northeast base that is closing, you're the BEST.

I just spent the last 3 weeks in Charlotte for training. Other than the weather, the entire experience was worth it. The instructors, mechanics and everyone in Charlotte made us feel welcome. The course(767 Init.) was very well taught and put together. Great experience all round.

Hector and hoping he stays to see done what he would like done to improve things.

Here here to that.
I'm also glad they let go of that nitwit scheduling director who was sabotaging negotiations. Seems they are giving us an olive branch.

Yay Hector!

To all of my long ago friends at USAirways and America West. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I'll be visiting some cities soon. So happy I'm not working this storm.
