Iran's peaceful intentions

My conception:
Jesus 'IS' the New Testament.
To be a Christian, the 'New Testament' is your base.
The rest of the Bible is a Historical reference that many Christians use to justify their actions but have little to do with the 'WORD OF JESUS' and being a Christian.

Am I perfect? Not hardly... 😛

Flame away...

Isn't it funny how so much of what GW Bush (a professed "Christian") does hasn't heeded a word of the New Testament? There are as many bad Christians as there are bad Muslims. Sadly, Bush is one of them...Just as the Imam's supporting jihad are among the "bad" Muslims. Go ahead....flame away.

Hey yall, just think how nice it would be if we were all athiests and said the heck with organized religion!!!!!!!!!!

do your homework first. have you ever read the bible. without the old testament, jesus is nothing. jesus came to fullfill the law. that is the law that is written about in the old testament. without that law, jesus would not have been neccesary. he also fullfilled prophesies from the old testament prophesies that prove he was the messiah. guess you should ducttape that part of the bible back to your beloved new testament.

It is you whom needs to dust off the Bible and get into the 'WORD'...That was made (flesh)
You may have read it, but obviously you have a lack of understanding about whom Christ Jesus claimed to be.

the coming of Christ ended the Levitical dispensation, and this is what the apostle means when he says: ‘He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second' (Hebrews 10:9).

KC from studying the Koran I can boldly state that the 'Imams supporting jihad' are actually "Good" Muslims because they are following its teachings and edicts.

'Ye shall know them by their fruits'.

lack of understanding of who Christ claimed to be??? read the first book of the new testament. i don't need to tell you what something means like you do. jesus's words themselve are clear:

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have not come to abolish these things but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth pass away not the smallest letter or stroke of a letter will pass from the law until everything takes place."

Matthew 5:17-18.

my point is still accurate and still stands.

"jesus came to fullfill the law. that is the law that is written about in the old testament." the old testament is much more than just a historical reference as ual tech stated.

You, Lord, have laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the works of Your hands."
(Heb 1:10)
"All things came into being through Him, and without Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being."
(John 1:3)

So who do you say that he is?

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have not come to abolish these things but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth pass away not the smallest letter or stroke of a letter will pass from the law until everything takes place."

You take this verse out of context, Christ (God) was saying his word is eternal and just.

Matthew 5:17-18.

I think you lost sight of what UT was saying, The Old Testament was for a specific generation, time, and place (in general) yet a witness for all.
Our (LORD) made a way so that even the gentile could be reconciled.

Feel free to educate me further! 🙄

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." John 1:1-5

dude. you argue for the sake of arguing. nothing that you just wrote discounts what i said. i merely repeat what the bible says: "jesus came to fullfill the law."

it is pretty difficult to refute the exact words the bible uses: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have not come to abolish these things but to fulfill them."

Your the one who 'sprouted' off 🙂 and started quoting the bible as if you were an expert...NOW
Answer the question 'dude' and quit sidestepping, who do you say that he is?

Anyone can parrot the bible yet lack understanding.

for a self acclaimed expert on the bible and christianity, you sure do want to know who jesus is very badly. where is 700am when YOU need him?

by the way, it is better to parrot the bible than to create your own misguided understanding. (i am not directing that towards you). to quell your annoyance, here ya go:

jesus is a man, born to a virgin. he is god. he is, along with the father and holy spirt part of the trinity. he is sinless and blameless, yet he is the savior of your sinful soul if you choose to accept his gift. he is the messiah. he is the forgiver of your sins. he is risen from the dead and ascended into heaven. he is the son of god. he is eternal. he is at the right hand of god. he is the perfect example of love. he is the fulfilled prophecy, from the line of david. He is the descendant of abraham, isaac and jacob. he is the way, the truth, and the life. he is the only way to get to god. he is the king of kings. he is the lord of lords. he is the ultimate healer. he is holy holy holy. he is a lamb. he is the ultimate price payer for our sin. he was with god in the beginning and through him all things came into being. he is the king of the jews, the heir to israel's thrown. he is the ransom for many. he is righteous. he is the giver of eternal life. he is the judger of your soul. he is the creator. he is the bride to the church. he is your hope. he is the conquer of death. he is the man that died for your sins, in place of the damnation that you deserve. he is all sufficient. he is atonement for your sin. he is strenght for the weak. he is merciful. he is the giver of life. his yoke is easy and his burden is light. he is the giver of grace. jesus is the sole source of salvation. he is lord. he is risen.

Smitty, I never claimed to be an expert on the bible and christianity, you have made that assumption on your own. I was'nt asking 'who do you say he is' simply because im confused but rather to get a better understanding of where your stance was/is. I'm a work in progress just like any other! 😉

Well that depends on what version your parroting from, but Im not going to debate denominations because it is very devisive among Christians and is fruitless.

It was God Himself, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, who warned us at the Sermon on the Mount...

Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Well said..

Micah 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

i suppose these baptist christian terrorists dont count.

baptist terrorists

oh wait. thats right. these people are just the occasional screw up.

OK MILK CRATE DOWN.

You have missed my point completely there is NOT a couple of hundred thousand baptists that have a holy war that includes killing Americans.

Though the fallout will be terrible for any Muslim "guilt by Association" if a Large scale event were to happen.

Remember FDR and the internment camps.

Did you know Bush has taken by his own signature the right to essentially become a dictator? Did you know with that Executive Order he can by pass the other two branches of government and declare "A state of Emergency"?

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/20...0070509-12.html

Did you know that Haliburtion has the contract to build interment camp here in the US?

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,198456,00.html

Now who do you REALLY think those are for, Mexicans?

Christ, when the Sh*t hits the fan the talking will be over for years.

Here you are wasting time on some off the wall group when there is a REAL threat still here and No Moderate Muslim is taking charge.

OK MILK CRATE PICKED UP.

Yeah, it is often freaky to consider the power that may be wielded by the Executive Order. I agree that Presidents are often tempted to abuse their executive power through the Executive Order. We actually have discussed this before.

Although I do not personally 'remember' the FDR camps, I am well aware of what went on and the political process surrounding it.

While it is true that the President can use the Executive Order to bypass Congress, it is not as easy to bypass the Supreme Court. It still must pass constitutional muster.

Obviously, however, the Supreme Court will "lower" its standards during times of national emergency. The FDR camps (challanged indirectly twice in the courts) are a testament to that; as well as the SAM orders created by Executive Order after the 9/11 attacks.

But National Emergency is not a blank check for the president. For example, during the Korean crisis, Truman, in order to prevent disruptions caused by a strike, tried to federally take-over the steel plants that provided material for defense contractors. The Supreme Court nixed that plan, basically saying he overstepped his presidential power.

I would venture a guess that with the current makeup of the court, it would follow the FDR precedent (if there was, in fact, an actual emergency and not just Bush trying to establish more dictator-like powers than he already has).

Too funny about the haliburton contract. Thanks for the link.

OK...getting back on topic!

President Mahmoud Ahmad-inejad said last week it was too late to stop Iran’s nuclear programme. He likened his country to a cornered lion and warned America “not to play with the lion’s tailâ€￾.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/worl...icle1909896.ece

A high-ranking American military officer told the Post that senior officers in the US armed forces had thrown their support behind Bush and believed that additional steps needed to be taken to stop Iran.

Predictions within the US military are that Bush will do what is needed to stop Teheran before he leaves office in 2009, including possibly launching a military strike against its nuclear facilities.

On Sunday, Sen. Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut said the US should consider a military strike against Iran over its support of Iraqi insurgents.

"I think we've got to be prepared to take aggressive military action against the Iranians to stop them from killing Americans in Iraq," he said. "And to me, that would include a strike over the border into Iran, where we have good evidence that they have a base at which they are training these people coming back into Iraq to kill our soldiers."

Tehran says it makes no sense that a Shiite-led government like itself would help the fundamentalist Sunni movement of the Taliban.

Oh it makes perfect sense!

Sura (48:29) - Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are hard (ruthless) against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves.

Sura (3:28) - "Let not the believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah..."

Sura (3:118) - "O you who believe! do not take for intimate friends from among others than your own people..."

Lieberman is just talking big to get his name in the papers. It has been pretty much established that the US does not have the military ability to engage in a third conflict. We are not even able to control the two that we have already undertaken.

Every military person I have ever heard speak or read have said that an air strike is worthless unless followed by ground forces. Given that our troops are already having leaves shortened and tours extended we do not have the ability. That combined with the fact that the repair facilities are already over whelmed with work as it is, recruitment standards have been lowered (education and criminal records standards just to mention 2) my guess that all the talk about Iran is just that. Funny part is Iran probably knows this as well which is why they are not worried about the hollow threats leveled by the US.

Will you give up on that crap for crying out loud?
Thats about all you do is whine on and on about how we can't defend against another 'enemy'...well why aren't Russia and China not kicking our selective assses now?Why aren't any other countries testing our mettle?Guess if it comes to what you infer,we must then surrender?

Anything dealing with Iran will be highly directed surgical strikes against all of their technology relating to nuclear ambitions.....and i'm sure they will be quite thorough in their resolve.Any devastating aerial attack aimed at denying the Iranians nuclear infrastructure will be executed without the need for boots on the ground.
Good 'ol Uncle Sam has been quietly sitting aside gleaning all sorts of IMINT whilst you and I debate the subtleties of military ops.You will be quite surprised in the very near future.....thats all I can say about this at this time 😉
