Irish eyes are smiling!!

During the 2002 summer schedule, Continental used a B767-400 on their service out of Newark, Delta used a B777 on their service out of Atlanta, and Aer Lingus used A330-300's on their BOS, JFK, and ORD routes. USAir would fill an A330 no problem during the summer months on their PHL - Ireland route, however the press release states that a B767-200 will be used.

One leg of a PHL - Ireland round trip MUST pass via Shannon. So I suspect USAir will do a PHL - DUB - SNN - PHL routing.

Wow! I just read the DOT application for Ireland.[BR][BR]US is indeed applying to fly one non-stop from PHL to SNN [STRONG]and[/STRONG] one non-stop from PHL to DUB.[BR][BR]Both flights are set to leave at 8:55 with the first arriving SNN at 7:45 and the second arriving DUB at about 7:55.[BR][BR][A href="http://dmses.dot.gov/docimages/pdf1a/205897_web.pdf"]http://dmses.dot.gov/docimages/pdf1a/205897_web.pdf[/A][BR]

Now THAT is great. 2 new nonstops!

The UA/US codeshare will undoubtedly funnel a lot of pax into PHL for those two flights. But the PHL metro area has a pretty large Irish population, and there are a lot of US businesses there now, as well, so this may very well continue into year-round service soon after the summer proves itself.
