The cash option in last night's Lotto was about $7,600,000.00 After taxes they will each get about $326,352.00 depending on the actual pay out for the cash option. Then next April taxes come into play again and of course, this kicks them all into the maximum tax bracket.

If they choose the annuity (and they all have to choose it) they will make $1,110,000.00 after 30 years. (Florida used to be 20 years but annuities just aren't paying what they used to)

A sweet deal either way. If they each dump half of their winnings into AMR stock, they could collectively raise a helluva ruckus at next year's stock holders meeting! B)

Most of them were on Afternoons with 15 or more years but
With todays cost of living i dont think any will retire maybe pay off the house and give up working OT.

Whether they take a lump sum or a yearly installment it will definitely make life easier. At the very least they will all be able to retire a bit early. If some have wives that work in order to make ends meet they will no longer have to do so. For those with kids worrying about paying for college will no longer be an issue. And those who still have a mortgage they will be able to pay it off.
