Maybe because the Unions don't go out of their way to search for a cheaper plan to present to the company. And management has no say in the plans that are provided to them or even their out of pocket costs since they have no contract or advocate.

700 is not telling you anything that's unreasonable in negotiations since every item has a dollar value and again how can the company argue about anything that costs them less. Or why should they?

Weez if a company has a better and cheaper health plan the company it is merging with, wouldn't the company move to  the cheaper better plan? But the company is going the other way at least with the managers and F/As. You are saying the company is letting the other work groups go to a lousier and more expensive plan if they want to . Does that make any sense?

It does when you're self insured and perhaps have some type of kickback arrangement with the plans administrators? Plus do we know the true cost the company pays being self insured?
