I proposed pay cuts for AGC's in 2002 at the convention and I drafted a district bylaw as our ORD delegates had the support of EWR, LAX, both SFO, and ORD. When I presented the bylaw, Canale called for a vote, but most district delegates are Pollyanna's and voted it down. I proposed the bylaw because we were getting hammered after 911, but the AGC pay went from $75,000 to $96 thousand from 2001 till 2003. No AGC took any pay cut of the sort that I remember for 911 or around that time. I wasn't really involved with the IAM during 2005 or so, maybe they took a pay cut when UA went bankrupt, dunno. But, if they did, they were prolly still around $90,000, but I do know that they gave themselves pay raises in I think 2005 or 2006 that was a $10,000 pay raise that brought them up to $96,000 and then gave themselves pay raises till it went to $99 in 2008. That's when Delaney asked me if I want to run his campaign and "Get Canale". I said, "Yep". The rest is history.
So, not sure what 700 is saying, i'll have to check the LM2's to see what happened during the time I wasn't involved. But I can tell you first hand that I put a bylaw on the floor and they shot it down back in 2002 and gave themselves big pay raises from 2000-2003 at least, but I don't remember any pay cut unless it was just temporary. A pay cut would have to be temporary cuz, like I said, they were making $96,000 or so around 2006.
