I hear ya, I know they have Delta global. I'm referring to 42 stations that are Delta mainline. Delta mainline does a lot of stuff like working their own cargo centers as well in 17 stations. True, they have ready reserve that subsidizes their permanent part time and Full Time, but we have vendors that subsidize most of our stations and then subsidize our full time with part timers who pay twice medical and half pension.robbedagain said:Tim dont forget DL ramps are not all completely mainline DL some parts are outsourced and work along side DL employees but with a different company Some of their larger cities are not even DL mainline for ramp So while in the past the IAM and the company tossed numbers of cities out they did add 2 at the time and during the 2014 agreement we got back a number of cities and took over LAA cities in some areas and vice versa
If the I'll Ask Management were to win an election at Delta, Kev would immediately be displaced or sent to the street in MSN as the IAM has consistently agreed with management that small and midsize stations ought to be contracted out. Never mind cargo will be wiped out immediately, plus it would take 7-10 years just to get a pay raise. Oh and profit sharing would be gone immediately, just as Continental threatened the Teamsters until there was a contract.
No way in heck should any delta ramper consider an IAM card. Look at Spirit, Frontier, etc., ever since the AMFA ruling, these carriers just contract out all union people who get a ground union, AND the union AGREES. See Spirit where Spirit management tossed the IAM a bone, with ONLY FLL, to get 200 more dues payers as long as the IAM agreed that all other stations can be contracted out and agreed to abandon pension/health care, etc., and agreed to $14.25 wages after 8 years. BTW, Mcdonalds 8 year employee makes over $18.
Why bother with a union if unions are so watered down that they are useless and rip you off. The IAM cut such an awful deal at Spirit that the IAM secretely agreed that the Spirit members don't have to pay the required $64 in Local 368, but only $30 Bucks. What about LUS workers who only have 1 or 2 years, why do LUS have to pay the full $64 whether part time or full time? These pimps are pimps and give a bad name to Labor. Labor left this industry and packed its bags a long time ago and now we have pimp daddies. We will only get what Parker wants us to have. Everything else is BS because these guys don't know what they are doing and have already rolled over.
I barf when I read their updates about how the company is delaying. If so, then why doesn't the union organize informational picketing? I'll tell you, because there are no negotiations happening. Period. CB and others may think so but what happens on the phone calls from Parker to Sito is the real story. Remember, the negotiation team is really just a front. They aren't in on many things and have the time they are at the pension building or down the hall.
