Wrong.
I can go to cash or bonds, whenever I decide to.
When I retire, I can move my 401 money into other vehicles of MY choice.
Not possible with the pension fund.

It's not even a close call. Anyone advocating the IAMPF over a 401 is a mouthpiece for the union heads.

An individual's choice is what I advocate.

I'm surprised you don't have one of those $100,000 a year jobs .
700 walks away from everything in life after he screws everything up. Not sure if it is just a lack of patience or if peeps develop a thorough annoyance of him. Ill give him credit for staying with his modest catering business. I hear his sloppy joes are his best.

Yes the sloppy joes are real sloppy.

Ok, so I have never walked away from anything, nor screw up or quit.

After 17 years at US and over 20 in the industry I made the choice to leave, as I had joint custody of my son who was 8 at the time, and I wasnt going to be in PHL for work and him in NC to live.

See I put my son first, did you do that in IAH?

How's the single life?

And dont hate because you could never win an election and then screwed up and lost an almost $100,000 job with 141.

The reality was that you didnt even know what you signed, then it was too late and everyone lost their job. Even at the Local, there were funds missing (thats how i first learned about you) but you decided to leave. Seemingly very conveniently.

Do you really believe what you type?

We NEVER reached an agreement with the company, never signed a thing and our CBA was abrogated, as we could never reach a deal to terminate our pension and layoff 46% of the maintenance workforce.

Why do you constantly lie about it?

US Airways said that they would wait until the outcome of the vote, scheduled for January 21, before terminating the contract. Workers will however continue working under a 21 percent pay cut that Mitchell imposed last October.

US Airways is seeking the elimination of 2,000 mechanics, stock clerks, cleaners and other ground personnel, according to a copy of the documents detailing the proposal obtained by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Of 848 airplane cleaners, 798 would lose their jobs, while the remaining 50 cleaners would have their pay cut by 15 percent. The number of mechanics would be cut from almost 3,000 to 1,800 and suffer an 8 percent pay cut. Stock clerks would be cut from 400 to 268 and their pay cut 15 percent.

Funds missing?

Are you ready for some slander?
I was RS, I never handled money nor did I have access to sign checks nor handle any money.

Stooping to a new low?

And what you are in question of involves a fleet service person and some watches, nothing to do with me. And I wasnt even an officer when that happened. So keep up the lies Timothy.

If you want to make up lies you better have proof to back them up.

It's no wonder why no one even comes to airlineforums anymore. No useful information to be found - just the usual bickering. smh

I agree. Because people don't want to discuss things like adults and if they don't like something have to attack the poster instead of what they posted. Then the attackee winds up taking it personally for whatever stupid reason and the bickering begins.

I don't take any of these people personally. But I do get caught up in the bickering myself sometimes. But I bicker more to make fun and get some laughs because the other guy again is dumb enough to take it personally. Schmucks.

It would be nice though to have adult conversations I'll admit.

I thought you were hiding somewhere in the Keys. I'm not religious but I prayed for a positive update this Friday for your sake.

Everybody is terrible...
Check out the Pilot thread. They're the worst by far. Years wasted bickering about the Nic. I'd love to go there and learn things about their profession and issues, but I don't.

It is a shame that the moderators have let a couple of trolls derail the forums into personal attacks in a public forum.

The trolls come and go around here. We will just have to wait for the next flush to get this site back on track.
I think it is funny. What else is there to talk about? You guys have beaten down the last negotiation update so much that all of your conclusions had nothing to do with the actual
update. As negative as this board is, I keep hearing that management wants a deal by September so I will not be surprised if tomorrow's update is a breath of fresh air. This board needs it because you guys all sound like you are resigned to 5 years of negotiations and fighting for the perfect contract. This contract is going to lose catering, unlike Timmy said, and I can't see it keeping small stations, or our health care, but management won't bend on those things even if we drag this out 5 years. So, might as well take what we can get now and move things forward for the greater population.

Decent food for debate here. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's done even before September. We'll see?

Why should the US side give up catering if it's a function they already perform? Will there be a trade off for it? Will they pick up Freight in exchange in your opinion? TWU isn't going to give up freight I can almost promise that. Our guys have no interest in giving any more blood at the bank.

And the medical. Why does that have to change? If the US guys already have a plan that saves both the members and the company money once we're done the company could easily include everyone else into "that" plan. Could be why they held off on a commitment to the CWA if you think about it? We'll see?

Super small stations? Up in the air? The company did imply in language that they wanted to discuss that during JCBA talks. But I don't want to speculate on what might come out of those talks cause I don't know who you are or if creative crafting could be done to keep those cities inhouse? Maybe there needs to be a little flexibility on both sides for that?

As far as tomorrow's update. You sound pretty sure of yourself on that one.

Sometimes the fun thing about Forums is NOT knowing who the guy is that you're conversing with. Keeps it somewhat interesting.
