You do not need a pre existing condition FMLA is available to all who qualify it can be for you or a family member if you are the primary care giver and it can be a condition you have had for your entire life such as asthma etc or a new ailment i believe they can ask for more information from your health care provider but it is very unlikely that they can Just Deny yourobbedagain said:in our station our station mgr is a stickler for attendance a lot of folks in our station went from no levels to and up to level 3 So a lot of the folks did the next thing and applied for FMLA even mgmt. pressures people to get it bec of the attendance policy But with FMLA you must have a pre existing conditions for either yourself or a family member But AA ARC medical board will approve it or deny it. A lot of the folks feel this sick policy needs to be addressed better
And Jester, no Rez cannot speak publicly to anyone about the particular details of the issue you want to bring up. There's a code of ethics you agree to when you become a rep and also a liability to discuss any members personal business even if that member was terminated. It's no different than Attorney/ Client privilege and Rez and the Union could be sued if he did discuss his version of those events.P. REZ said:Jester,

here is a twist. While i have heard most peeps if not all in phx are disappointed in the phx labor situation, many used to blame Dale Salisbury. I doubt Dale was on Prez christmas card list. However, in ord, i personally havent had much of a problem working thru issues with Dale thus far, and a few unresolved issues im also hopeful of resolving.WeAAsles said:And Jester, no Rez cannot speak publicly to anyone about the particular details of the issue you want to bring up. So actually your attacks on the man here on this page are honestly unfair since he can't defend himself. It's no different than punching a guy who has his arms tied behind his back.
You want to believe that the Union sucks in PHX that's your right. And it's also your right if it's that horrible there to put in transfers to get out as fast as you can. But I'm not sure wherever you go you'll really find the grass as green as you might think it will be? Then again at 115 degrees you probably do have some pretty brown looking grass there.
IMO PHX has too many junior employees who have a particular mindset and they let themselves get stepped on. Then many probably blame the Union for all their woes?Tim Nelson said:here is a twist. As P.Rez told me to contact to any of the 10 Union reps...WeAAsles said:And Jester, no Rez cannot speak publicly to anyone about the particular details of the issue you want to bring up. for which I said was a non-starter as it was a privacy violation!P. REZ said:Like I said before, reach out to 10 Union reps of your choosing and I know you'll then realize that you got BS info. Or, you can believe somebody not involved.
But my information was from those who were the victims of what I thought to be inadequate representation and Management abuses.Jester said:
I got the information DIRECTLY from C.L, and P.B., and I doubt any union rep would speak to me about any particular person and their issues due it being a privacy matter, so your "solution" is immediately suspect.

WeAA i totally get what youre saying on the legacy US side i think its somewhere like far less than what LAA has As far as Tim says I do agree with him there should be some writing in the contract
slepp apnea is another chronic ailment that affects our members with their jobs. I believe it can be covered under ADA but Im not certain about fmla, although without researching it, id lean towards saying yes in some of its capacities. Those with these issues should consult key people in hopes of making application to protect their rights.Racer X said:You do not need a pre existing condition FMLA is available to all who qualify it can be for you or a family member if you are the primary care giver and it can be a condition you have had for your entire life such as asthma etc or a new ailment i believe they can ask for more information from your health care provider but it is very unlikely that they can Just Deny you
In PHX the problem is not "too many junior employees who have a particular mindset and they let themselves get stepped on" but a work environment that closely resembles a prison camp.WeAAsles said:IMO PHX has too many junior employees who have a particular mindset and they let themselves get stepped on. Daddy can't fight all of juniors battles for him. If they ever changed their way of thinking then that station would change itself. And I've spoken to a few people who work there now to base my opinion on.
You haven't worked here in a long time, I have many people who come from other stations and claim it's the easiest job they have ever had.28L_or_10R? said:In PHX the problem is not "too many junior employees who have a particular mindset and they let themselves get stepped on" but a work environment that closely resembles a prison camp.
I've worked in PHX and on the east coast at LUS (eastie) stations and hubs since PHX. In PHX you have managers drive around in their electric buggies micromanaging the situation at each gate. They work with one guy up in a bin and a person at the end of the beltloader. Now in the age of scanners the guy up in the bin unloading has to scan the bags, as well. Not enough equipment to perform their jobs and you end up with people pulling the tail carts to the beltloader by hand...and people going around stealing equipment off of other gates. You have to do it or your flights will be late and lack of equipment is no excuse. There are no excuses and the only acceptable response is "I'm sorry and it won't happen again". ABR (CONX) runners running an entire off-load by themselves and if you miss a bag you may get your badge pulled. BTW I saw Tim Nelson mention Dale Salisbury who I remember as the guy on the top deck of the parking garage with binoculars and a radio.
We have had people from our hub transfer there expecting a sunny paradise and they return in no time with a new found appreciation. We have people who transferred from PHX acting like they have been liberated.
Why do folks allow this nonsense there? Because that is their normal. They know nothing else. This debacle has existed under the old TWU 580 management and the present PHX AGC. It's just another day in the life.
Oh, of course they say that.P. REZ said:You haven't worked here in a long time, I have many people who come from other stations and claim it's the easiest job they have ever had.

Maybe LAS on the LUS side but not the LAA side!28L_or_10R? said:Come to think of it, though, PHX no longer has the number of flights that it had back in the day. Perhaps the work is easier now. Probably, like in LAS and PIT, people are sitting around looking at their belly buttons not realizing that their hub is in its waning days. Heading into the twilight.
