Hey ca people, I'm new to this forum although I've stirred up my fair share of trouble on another one. I am just an on call pilot bored stiff, living in a small town. I look outside and see my truck is plugged in, the snow is falling, the air is frigid, and it's nice and warm right here by this PC. 🙂

Anyway, I just tried out the new discount carrier over christmas and they seem to have a rather large problem with bags. Anybody out there ever load an MD-83? I watched the Hudson G boys loading and unloading my 2 hour late departure and had to wonder; would 4' tall rampies help?

The pilot seemed surprised that 160 people could muster up over 200 bags in his pre-flight appology. (some were 'bumped') Then the story was the exact same on the ride home. I'm lucky I only pack a carry on, but I know a few people whose bags came over an hour after landing at YYZ.

Ya, for twice the price. I'm not complaining, just pointing out that the "low cost carrier" ain't so low anymore. Checked the flights to YQT from YYC a few weeks ago and good 'ol WJ was the most expensive. AC even beat the fair by $300 bucks return!

Lesson learned I guess. Still, YEG-YYZ $459 return including everything was pretty tough to beat at christmas time!

Next time I'll pay the 80 clams more to be treated like cattle, but at least with a smile. 🙂

Maybe Jetsgo should try charging the rampies a $30,000 training bond to teach them how to throw bags properly. With that kind of training I'm sure they'd NEVER screw up!

Right...For $8 per hour or less do you really expect your luggage to arrive intact. But then there are companies paying only a bit more for AMEs
