Judge Blocks NW f/as right to strike

Ive been too disapointed with each party so Ill refrain from commenting. My question is What do the f/a's do now? Do they sit with this forced upon contract, when can they "legally strike" and what is the AFA telling their members? Just wondering what the next step will be.

They had the right to strike for weeks. AFA sat with the hands up there (pick the orifice of your choice) waiting for a judge to rule against them.

AFA is saying keep the dues coming kids, we want another run at Delta.

Just curious, what is off duty like for the f/as today?

What is working like right now? I try to put myself in their place and I know for awhile I would feel defeated. I also know I would be pizzed off and looking to see where the next battle would be. I would be hounding my union leadership. I dont know if I could face the smug look of management on any flight. I guess we'll wait until next week to see what happens. If that falls apart, than what? Any guesses??

Mikey couldn't have said it better! Sad indeed. AFA does NOT work to improve the life of f/a's.

I thought you had the BEST work rules FLY. I am confused.

For FLY they do. We all like things a bit different. What she would like I would hate and what I love she couldnt care less for.

We do. But have you seen the paycuts we took to keep the rules intact? (mods: you really need to get a barfing smilie to get the point across. )

Any kind of "not going to work". Increased sick, IOD, "I think I'm pregnant" maternity, basically anything that comes under, "you're scheduled to fly", (but have chosen not to come to work).

I don't understand what you're asking exactly. Do you mean what can you do to get off work? Or what is the typical days off?

Anyone can call in sick for any number of reasons in any business, so that must not be what you're asking. Typical days off per month vary depending upon seniority and the lines your airline builds. The differences would be staggering if you compared a newly hired f/a to a 35 years of service f/a.

In a nutshell..."blue flu" Are the f/as calling off in higher numbers than normal? Sick-out.

I've read this entire thread without comment until now...the CHAOS action is NOT the strike action the judge is placing an injunction against. The judge is against the general strike. This is the "deadline" that keeps being pushed back. CHAOS is legal. It doesn't fall under the RLA, and doesn't need to be delayed. The union delayed CHAOS over the terrorist actions in Europe. They delayed it when nwa threw them a bone about further "talks". This union's leadership is hoping upon hope that some miracle agreement will materialize if they keep delaying any CHAOS or strike action. The International doesn't want a strike action for one reason...LOSS OF DUES. That is all they are ever concerned about.

As several others have said on this thread, this is history in the making. A company in BK, a judge in the middle (albeit on the company's side), a union and the union's membership (I separate these two since they seem to be of opposite desires) are locked in a battle. The battle is against corporate greed. In the movies it would have been some tough miner's union or steel workers...but we'll have to settle on the battle with the F/A army as the key players. So make history...begin CHAOS...continue the strike talk. BUT DO SOMETHING!!
