Hey sport you mean you don't have the NIC list on the wall in your own room next to the Star Wars poster. All of this loud talk and indignant posturing and you don't even have a NIC list to look at....pathetic.

NICDOA
NPJB

I do have a list. I knew the answer before asking the question. Still no proof from the easthole division.

  • Already agreed upon implementation of Preferential Bid System on day one. This will wipe out up to 500 jobs overnight on the US Airways east system and will nullify the same amount of long awaited pilot attrition due to retirements starting in December 13, 2012. This will affect every pilot, every aircraft, and every seat and will be felt from top to bottom. Pilot created line construction, lead in/out conflicts, vacation trip drops, and training conflict trip drops are gone. Daily processing of open time, the Bid sheet and the AIL are gone. Open time trip awards based on seniority – gone. USAPA has a standing resolution abolishing Preferential Bidding yet the APA/management term sheet gave this away at the first whack.
  • DeWitt Ingram
CLT USAPA Board of Pilot Representatives
Candidate for Appeal Board seat 3
  • "DimWitt" thinks we should continue to featherbed while we have massive retirements.
  • I say we should let the company become more efficient and make them pay us for the increased efficiency.
How many pilots were furloughed when PBS came to AWA? CAL?

Why is fear mongereing such a fertile strategy for the east? Do they think they are geezers in the rest home getting a fake call warning them that they a banking problem that demands they hand over their account numbers?

Eh, maybe I shoulda used a different example.

You assume "I/we" to constitute a real problem? None out east have lost their seats to any out west. The nic's been thwarted for over five years and counting. No matter, as that's not the most amusing part here...which would the "forever" part. I mean...Wow!.."forever" huh? 😉

I suggest a moment's indulgence in proper perspective:

The problem for you is that you have not enjoyed your DOH (in a combined company) for the past five years and the potenial for losing that fantasy looms near.

The problem for you is that you have not enjoyed your DOH for the past five years.....

Actually....I very much have, and there's been no problem with doing that at all. I'll leave any issues of fantasy to yourself and others of like mind. Thanks for your concern though.

Ok, I just went back and got the exact numbers to crunch off the NIC. You sir, are correct! The West pilot just "senior" to me was hired on 8-16-2004, which is 9 months, 3 days after the merger was announced and 16 years, 5 months, 15 days after me, not 17 years.

Now that we have completed this exercise of "separating the fly sheet from the pepper", the fact of the matter is that this West pilot will be 65 in 2040, from an actuarial perspective, he will have been a wide-body Captain for years after I am dead, with or without the NIC. What's the rush?

seajay

Nine months does not make a new hire and prove that you have 17 years of actual service to the company. I am still not convinced. Just because you say so doesn't make it true.

Nine months does not make a new hire.....

Ummm....sure thing, if you say so. A whopping nine months and still on probation......? Ok then. I guess it's just a matter of reasonable (versus insane) perspective....? 😉

I haven't spent much time thinking about west retirees, but I'd say you are correct. Please tell me Ames is one of those retiring. At least the senior of those retiring got to keep their seniority that was massively diluted with the Nic.

The junior will be better off? Perhaps, we will see, but not so far.

It appears that I get under your skin. Too bad, I'm not retiting for a looooong time.

Too bad, I'm not retiting for a looooong time.

You hope. I hope you're right and you have a good, long and healthy life as well....but...none can EVER know the future.

Hint: "Expectations" aren't any part of it.

Well, geez...c'mon now; how could that not be completely "reasonable"?....Words just fail me. Call it a hunch, but my suspicion is that the bulk of the most strident, self righteous outrage, and loudest trumpeting of the nic's supposed virtues, comes from just such people as the mentioned 10th grader...

Ok. So we have progressed from eastholes stating that their guys with 15 or 17 years of uninterrupted service were placed beneath a west new hire on the Nic (not proven) to an easthole with 10 years of uninterrupted service behind a westie YOUNGER than him. Oh, the outrage! Where is that youngster on the list? What was his seniority at AWA prior to this mess?

Comparing apples to kangaroos will get you nowhere. Being unable to prove your blanket statements of untruth will also get you nowhere.

....Nor will leading an incredibly dense horse to water ever force the sorry animal to actually drink....What's your point? 😉

Still waiting for you to prove your statement, eastus. What east pilot with 15 years of solid service was placed beneath an AWA newhire?

How would you now define the term newhire? It seems now that a whopping 9 whole months constitutes tremendous service in your estimation........?

Re check the horse to water notion, then do your own homework here. Since you arrogantly lend no credibility to those who've written from their own, personal placing via the glorious nic....I find no reason to humor you further on this BS. "The Truth is out there" already Sculley 😉

I did and I repeat, your martyr, 1988 hire was the senior FURLOUGHED eastie who was placed beneath our junior pilot. 17 years DOH means squat if you are furloughed.
