The dynamics of the pilot integration of the TWA into AA were TOTALLY different. After 40 years of animosity and hard feelings, the APA at last found the opportunity to "stick it" to ALPA. Sadly, the TWA pilots were the pawns. ALPA, on the other hand, always looking for a buck, was offering the TWA pilots as an "olive branch" to the APA in hopes that they could get the AA pilots back in the fold...and the dues money filling the trough in Herndon.
There is none of that here. ALPA is not in the picture. There is no doubt that the APA is out for the benefit of the AA pilots, as they indeed should be. Interestingly, the APA was extremely supportive of the efforts by the US Airways pilots to dump ALPA. If anything, the APA and USAPA are "old time buddies."
Yes, USAPA is going to be gone. But I doubt you will find ANYONE at the APA that sees that happenstance as a "squashing," as you nitwits on the west like to call it. It's merely the fact that one union must prevail, and APA has the numbers. (As well you know from experience.)
You really think APA will continue the torch of the maybe soon out of business corrupt usapa? Another question to you.....Do you think as a remote possibility, that APA lawyers might have been following this unfold with usapa's illegal quest. How it relates to the possibly new CBA/DFR?
