Ok. One scale on the E6B matches one scale on the slide rule. One of them is actually circular (can you keep up with this?) and one of them has a circular part.

A slide rule was nothing but a tool, allowing more rapid calculations than long-hand math but with limitations on accuracy and function. Even in the day of the "all powerful state of the art" personal computing device called the slide rule, the human brain using a pencil and paper was superior when accuracy counted or mathmatical functions beyond the ability of the slide rule were needed. An E6-B is nothing but a circular slide rule with the slide for wind functions added.

The state of the art really changed when the first 4-function electronic calculators appeared followed not far by the true personal computer. They allowed both the accuracy of long hand math with the speed that the pencil and paper couldn't match.

Folks I'm getting a bit concerned about Usapa's favorite promoter and ever present omnipotent Move2clt. Been about 36 hours sans my favorite poster 🙁
Plz, anyone.......tell me he's safe and sound.
When I wear my Sherlock cap, I notice a rather strange relationship with him and FODA SE .
He's oddly been absent for 20+ hours since his over the top rant that began on 23rd and climaxed very late last nite.

He kept antaganizing me, so I made a comment about how this board is turning into a roadrunner cartoon. He came back not knowing what I was talking about and he even made a grammar correction about emoticons being used as punctuation. So I replied with a Beep-Beep. And Move went to lick his wounds for awhile!

Later he corrected the Beep-Beep as actually being Meep-Meep. What an anal retentive moroon!

Absolutely. They are fundamentally important to the board success story. However, the reality in the Franke Circus is another matter. Move/Fodase is symptomatic of the Franke operation. Without this entity, the airline never would have evolved into the mess it is now.
Parker relies on these divergent and psychotic synergies to maintain his position. It appears he is about to lose the American Merge Dream. Another lost merger will go on his record. I would imagine this will be his last summer at the helm if this were to be true. Horton is going to put a torpedo into Parkers ship shortly.

I earned a bachelor degree in engineering in 1973 at an aviation college. I am well aware of the limitations on accuracy, as well as the advantage of speed where exact calculations were overkill. I've forgotten more about slide rules than you now, or will ever, know.

An E6B is NOT a slide rule. It has ONE slide rule scale with no moveable cursor. It has a very focused, limited use, and it would be nothing more than a paperweight to any engineer who might actually want to use a slide rule to actually accomplish some work.

Anyone with eyes can see the obvious differences from the Wikipedia pictures I posted. Although, in your pompous, arrogant manner, your bloviation of my "A" for Google skills is yet another embarrassment for you. I never Googled any of this; went straight to Wikipedia where I knew there would be pictures to prove my point, and disprove yours.
