There was a KMax on the Eagle/Alpine ramp the other day. Anyone know whose or where it went. I was told it had a US registration but also was accompanied by a pickup truck with a Bambi bucket and other support equipment.

Heli-Lift International out of Yorkton, SK was using one in Ontario on a power line job for a while. It then went to BC to fight fires while the province is hiring heavies. I think that it's now working near Lillooet.

Heli-Lift is leasing the K-MAX from Grizzly Mountain in the US. They picked it up new from the factory in July for a power line construction job near Hawk Junction. They moved over 800 poles with it. I managed to get up there to see it on the job. See the photo feature in the next issue of Vertical.

Simple, You first learn to fly a multi seat Kaman

Yes 8 hrs in the husky and than 8 hrs in the kmax and you are done.

Graunch1-There was a dark blue Kmax with a US registration refueling in Golden last week. On the 19th I believe it was. Rumour has it it will be doing some logging here in the area.

Don't know the colour of the one from here but will find out tomorrow. Possibly all comments are on the same machine??

The U.S registered machine I saw was blue . The pilot informed me that the machine was leased for a logging operation. Yes it probably is the same machine.

Yep thats the one! Awsome machine....its funny how it looks so small but is actually a huge machine overall.
