What's new

LCC and Airbus sign deal for more aircraft.

If we took delivery in the East, ........ they would need to be staffed by new hires and the pay scale is lower. or delivry to the West will help maintain seperate and compeeting employee groups. Either way, it might help the company continue to drive costs lower.

I know I'm just thinking off the top of my head here. Isn't it at all posible that we could have a merger agreement before then?

2014 for the A350? Won't we all have flying cars by then? Some junior in high school right now will look at this order after college and either say we better start ordering parts, or who was US Airways?

Or some kid in elementary school right now will be trying to justify why he should be a Captain on one of them!

Wasn't the number that Doug put out there $40 million per year that PIT is costing?

That won't buy one of those Airbuses....well, maybe a 320. (BoeingBoy will correct this within the hour if I'm wrong with retail price, tax, tags and delivery.)

I don't think these two situations are even remotely related.

Dead on correct!! I was wondering if anyone else caught that.

Well it's bad timing BUT it is a VERY good thing. PIT people are angry and need time to grieve and move on. However, they knew all too well it was coming - i guess just were in denial.

Oh please!! The east?? Move on??? That's too funny, no they drag garbage out to the end of time regardless of if it's in their best interest or not.

Hmmm..and here I'd understood that you are married. No matter = just another "tired old principle" of mine.

I agree that the plane purchase isn't related to the PIT issue in any way that I can see. I'd figured that, ever since Parker had said things about keeping PIT, that it was doomed = His lips were moving.

And the last Boeing will leave the fleet in ???

There is nothing in the plan that eliminates all the Boeings. In fact, the last fleet plan made public a few months back showed 10 (I think) 757s in ETOPS configuration being around for the long term. But those are the only Boeings that will be here indefinitely. The rest will be replaced with Airbuses and Embraers.

Well that doesn't mean I cant attend and look now does it?? This too shall pass East this too shall pass.
