Managers ARE going to F/A training

I'M sorry to burst your bubble Nancy but we aren't going anywhere. We may not get all of our money back but we're not going to take a concessionary package and we aren't going to be replaced or have our passes taken away. It would be stupid to take passes away from a work group that has such a high percentage of commuters.

Chris, not only do I not want you to go anywhere, I sincerely want you to get a fair contract. Do I think the APFA can deliver? No. Do I think the APFA has been honest with the numbers? No (although I probably would have presented the numbers the same way..lol) Do I think you all are being prepared for a strike? No. Do I think this will wind up a concessionary contract? Yes. I believe that AA will implement anything and everything they want. Yes, I believe AA will THREATEN and probably act on the pass removal. The question will be whether the APFA will be able to negotiate passes back in a back to work agreement. (remember passes are not negotiated and AA does not care how many commute) I am very sorry that the APFA has not placed value in no cost/cost neutral quality of life enhancements that could offset some of the less desirable features.

Nancy, I have to say more times than not , your posts are way off from whats really going on. APFA is very much on the ball with getting us a good contract. The meetings were very successful and F/As are unified. Hello.... 90 % voted and 97% will strike....
I think every chance you get to dog APFA you do and your posts scream it load and clear.
Did you go to one of the road shows??? Very good info on many important points. I walked away with a secure feeling that APFA is doing it's job in protecting my best interest.

This is all posturing...
The Obama administration will NOT allow a strike.......A PEB will be appointed if and when the time comes.
At a time when the government is legislating airlines with respect to passenger rights, do you really think they're going to allow AA to inconvenience them even further?

PALEEEEEASE!

I have no doubt YOUR interests will be protected. Numbers, 90% of what? Eligible voters? Remember how many are not eligible. Past history does not bode well on the voting honesty scale. You are no where near maintain and sustain much less restore and more. Go right ahead and shut it down. I wish you all of the best.

I too am very confident that our nego team will not rest until they bring back a fair and equitable contract, I've made it to all the road shows and keep up on the briefings from my union APFA.

Brace yourselves -- I agree with Hopeful.

They will allow Spirit to strike, but not AA. Too much market consolidation has occurred, and there's no way any carrier with more than 10 to 15% of the domestic market will ever be allowed to strike. As I said a few weeks ago, letting the NWA pilots and mechanics strike happened when they "only" controlled 5-7% of the domestic market.

Incidentally, not a single one said they were interested. Two of them were around for 1993, and are saying thanks but no thanks.

I live in Dallas, and know several management people personally through an outside organization. I have been told the same thing. When the people I know were asked if they would attend the f/a training, their response was "thanks, but no thanks."

What a half-assed contingency plan. If a work stoppage occurs (and I agree with Hopeful and eolesen that a strike is extremely unlikely), I don't see AA operating any meaningful part of its schedule.

Flights may be staffed with FAA minimum crew (less than today's staffing levels)

Paul1 is right, just like Sara Palin. She said thanks but no thanks, when asked about bridge to no where, but before the campaign she wanted that bridge. She was also in favor of TARP before she became a Tea Bagger. Don't forget about all the gate agents that went to F/A training in 93.

Just like the 96% strike vote, I bet more then half cross the picket line. Hopefully it won't come to that.

Even if everyone they asked said yes what are the chances of them being able to cover a full flight schedule. I think we know that answer to that.

Precisely. Even at Centreport they don't have that many managers. (Yes, I know. Hard to believe, but nevertheless true.)

But then, if Sarah Palin said the same thing that must prove that my friends are lying to me. There are some people that refuse to believe that just because someone is in management that they don't agree with everything the executives do.

Once again ..... your wrong !! Have you been on an American jet lately??? All you see are reds disks ...... F/As are unified. I always said , we as a group will come together when it comes to getting a contract. This is our future we are dealing with...

It would be total stupidity on the part of the FAs (or any of the other two wrokgroups) to do anything other than a CHAOS type (random) action, should there actually be an impasse declared (doubtful) and subsequent release.

Why give the company any forewarning of intentions by calling a formal strike/walkout? That allows the company to enact a plan to counter eventualities and would be very much like helping the company out. The company not knowing when an event will happen would disrupt operations much more effectively than a formal walkout - isn't that the intent or is this all for show?
