Managers ARE going to F/A training

It's understandable that FAs will be upset that other AA employees are taking actions which puts their jobs in jeopardy, just so FAs understand that they are taking actions which are putting other AA employee jobs in jeopardy.

Equally so, the company they are helping, are the same one who are putting people in that position. They are trying to pit them against one another.

Thats the American Way.... Divide and concour...

Here are my two cents.
First of all I can not be more proud of the unity of the flight attendants.
We rock. And the company knows it.
This whole contingency plan that AA is putting out is just a public
relations stunt.
They know the flight attendants are unified. Even the one that
cross the picket line in 1993 will not do it today.
So as a publicity stunt they are going public with training managers
not to scare off potential bookings away from AA.

With that said I do believe the mediatior will call us back to the table and
we will get an agreement this time around..

I honestly do not think there will be strike.
But one think I do know for sure and that is that the APFA
membership could not be more unified in their resolve to get
an agreement.

You're unified alright. You'll all walk over a cliff together.

A reminder: Board rules prohibit use of profanity/vulgarity in posts. Let's show a little class, people.

Once again ..... your wrong !! Have you been on an American jet lately??? All you see are reds disks ...... F/As are unified.

Sure, I've seen a lot of red disks. They pretty much lost on me at this point, since there are some who will do whatever it takes to avoid the ridicule of not wearing the red disk....

If APFA tries chaos, I wouldn't put it past the company to do a lockout and shut down for a couple days, which would then more or less force a PEB if one isn't called before the end of the cooling off period...

Okaaay sure... Lockout the F/As....
Hmmmmmm...... Never would happen.

Flights may be staffed with FAA minimum crew (less than today's staffing levels)
Most domestic flights are already at minimum crew. The ones that aren't are the 767 transcons, and the company could never operate those with premium class service at minimum staffing levels.

Staffing at min crew also makes it difficult, up to a completely immpossible to try and operate the system in a strike situation. With min crew,if just one person doesnt show the flight is stuck. You may have have people available, but not qualified on the AC needed to be staffed.

A lock out is a great idea. Lets lock out SR management. CP5 will be closed until the government forces a PEB and requires the management negotiate in good faith and produce socially acceptable pay and benefits for themselves similar to the ones they expect the employees to take. After all didnt they say pull together win together?

True on the Domestic flights. Latin America narrowbody flying often has more than the minimum.

As for service on the Transcons and International W/B flights, I'll be a little blunt and pragmatic in the hope that APFA accurately rates their strengths if going into a real fight. Given the service rankings of the last few years, I'm not sure there would be much of a drop in the rankings for the company to be concerned or would be something they couldn't buy off with ADV miles or free tickets to the preemy folks. In 1993, we were ranked 1 or 2 in service, caviar on toast points along with fresh scrambled eggs off the griddle is a lost memory. We had a long way to fall in the rankings back then, not so far now.

Just curious what is to keep management from training contingents on all aircraft. iv'e never understood the qualified on certain aircraft stuff.,,, and reserves should be able to fly all aircraft. We at (insert the bad word here) had to be qualified on MD80, 727,757,767,1011 (international and domestic) ,747...and it can be done in 17 days.

Best to ask the company that. They also let people frop quals from time to time. I dont know where you got the 17 day number, but I am sure it would take a lot onger than that and as it is we seem to be in the home streach, AA doest have the time or resources to train up thousands of people.

"I dont know where you got the 17 day number, but I am sure it would take a lot onger than that "

TWA replacements in 1986 where trained and qualified on all aircraft 18 days.
