Just curious to see if people are going to stick around after the arbitration if it doesnt go well. I know as for myself if the arbitration doesnt go well i am gone. I am not sticking around for VERY LITTLE money i may never see. And I wonder if they (USAir) has a plan for this. Afterall there is no training program approved for "MidAtlantic". So they can't hire replacements -

I know you will, but becareful on how you exit. Remember you can be terminated by US Airways Inc. and lose your recall to mainline.
Don't bite my head off, I am just reminding EVERYONE.

goodgirl,

Just get as many facts as you can before you burn any bridges.....

I don't know how the Republic divisions' contracts compare now, but the newly ratified F/A agreement apparently has some improvements....

"In addition to improving quality-of-life issues, such as allowing flight attendants better control of when and how much they work and their ability to adjust their schedule, the new contract guarantees that workers receive, on average, 6 percent wage increases and pay retroactive to March 2003, when the last contract became amendable. Workers' hourly wages will be increased by at least $7 over the contract's term. The agreement also contains language that protects jobs from outsourcing and mergers."

This is true but they cannot terminate you for quitting. So I don't see what the problem would be.

I for one will not be doing the J4J thing again. My experience at my last J4J job was.."Hey guys, thanks for the jets, now you can leave. The pay is fine I suppose if you are 24, no mortgage, kids..etc. The conditions in the domestic airline industry have quickly gone below my threshold. Just remember all you up and comers, you most likely will have kids, a great wife. (or husband) You will want the best for all of them. A nice home and a nice car. A nice vacation once a year... just to name a few. Alot of this will not be possable with the wages going as sub par as they have. I guess Im just tired seeing a once great job (respect and pay wise) now not really worth it anymore.

The problem could be if you got peeved and just didn't show up or didn't give sufficeint notice (at least 2 weeks). I would believe that everyone at MAA has filled their 90 obligation. Just don't let emotions rule any decisions. That's all. I want to see everyone return to mainline if they so choose. 🙂

Not everyone has fulfilled their 90 days, and if you do not give 2 weeks notice, you wont lose mainline recall rights. You would just lose any vacation you had left.

Thanks Pitbull...I was just trying to make a point to not do anything stupid. I didn't think 2 weeks was needed, but I think the point was stressed. Now I am sure someone will bash me for that because everyone on here is perfect. 😀

So? You don't get to go with any seniority even though they are taking US Airways planes. You're not even guaranteed you'll be hired, much less what "codeshare", aircraft or even which company in thier little scab empire you'll be working for. It really doesn't matter what "improvements" Republic gets. What, are they making a whole 19K a year now? Whooop-de-crap.

Not a single F/A has expressed interest because it's so nauseatingly insulting. This is a group of F/As that were forced to become very savvy about the industry and the company's bigger picture, much more so than the average "Boeing and Airbus Division" F/As. They aren't stupid, they have amazing solidarity with each other, and they have enough self-respect not to beg an outside company for thier job to be a new hire.

I love how they are trying to "protect thier jobs from outsourcing". As a contract US Airways, United, Delta and American impersonator, what on the green earth are you protecting? They already are the outsourced help. This time they are just DIRECTLY replacing 300 US Airways flight attendant jobs rather than indirectly.

US took the most loyal, willing, flexible, and proud group of F/As they had and #### on them for the second time in thier careers. It's like they TRY to break the spirit of anyone who has any love for the company and pride in thier profession left... They've gotten thier own lawsuit together and have apparently raised thousands of dollars in a couple weeks. I hope both them and the pilots wipe the floor with the company for the sake of anyone at US and HP that plans on having a job.

Great post Light Years!! I agree that the midatlantic f/a's are deff a dedicated division despite being furloughed once again.
Mainline will not accept a resignation from an airline that requires a forced resignation from another airline. Keep that in mind as you start another job search. If you do resign from MDA keep in mind if you are to resign that uniform balances would be deducted from your last check. sick time is loose it or use it, and vacation time is to be paid out. Your last check would be in paper form and mailed to the address that is on file. Just a bit of information that I have recently found out that I thought I would share..... Goodluck to all

That is the way this it used to be, however if you go to another carrier and they make you resign USAIRWAYS must recognize the resignation. Just ask ****** **b***on.... Don't resign your seniority anywhere you go b/c they WILL have to recognize it.

I just confirmed this with US Inflight. Its supposed to be something added in the latest contract @ mainline. That is not true... US Airways will not recognize a forced resignation while on furlough. :bleh:

If you do choose to go to another carrier, Get a letter from Mainline Inflight stating clearly that it will not be recognized to cover yourself.
