Mechanics Vote Cancelled

local, if the other mechanics are anything like the AMFA mechanics that have already crossed over they will be welcome here with no resentment what so ever. The AMFA mechanics that I have talked to are some really great guys. Yes, I do look forward to them coming back to work. Then I can go home and wait for the AA guys to go on strike so I can go and scab for AA. I have had a really great time here and I don't see why I wouldn't also have a great time at AA.

PTO, forget about any AA union going on strike. It won't happen. AA's unions will have us bend over like gumby before they risk losing union dues.

Also, I am glad that the AMFA mechanics will not return to work. This way, scabs like yourself will either have to stay on the job at NWA. That will teach you a lesson of a lifetime. Do you think nWA management will respect you anymore than AMFA mechanics?

PTO,

If the companies last minute insertion in contract language read "All Scabs will be immediately terminated and last paycheck will be withheld until NWA is forced to pay through a court order", would you then have the same opinion?

You appear to be not only a scab, but a fearmongering company suckass.

That’s to bad about AA never going on strike, I would really like to work that one. As far as paychecks being held, that is the contract companies problem not mine. I'm not tring to be anyone’s advocate I'm just telling you how it is.

I would really like to address all posts individually but I have been reduced to a dial-up connection and it is absolutely miserable.

So did the mechanics get screwed by not being able to vote on any of the offers or not? I think AMFA was protecting its own self-interests and not the mechanics, hence they got screwed.

NO they did not, there has yet to be an offer that would pass ratification.

What part of "AMFA is the Mechanics" don't you understand?

You continue to seperate the union from the member, which only happens in the industrial union.

I am convinced you are either an IAM Officer, or a worker that has never experienced a real democratic union.

This makes you utterly incapable of rational thinking when it comes to unionism.

If the union is democratic and the officials denies its members the right to vote then there is a separation between the two groups thus making the officials the "union" and the members the "mechanics". It is no longer a democratic union.

If the members authorize the Officials to call for a strike in the event a negotiated settlement cannot be reached, then the members instructed the officials as required by the democratic constitution.

What's the matter? Your scab wages relegated you to dial-up? Wait until you succesfully destroy all unions, you will at that time likely change careers like those you have replaced, or you will not even afford dial-up to stay in the industry.

Or, maybe instead, you will ride a bicycle or hitch-hike to the local library for internet access.

The problem with your analysis of the situation is that you are not including all of the facts. The fact is the union members were lied to about the preparedness of NWA for this strike. Had they known that there was a literal army of mechanics ready to storm the NWA hubs once the order was given, I really do believe they would have not struck but demanded that the AMFA come up with another strategy. AMFA down played the scabs numbers and experience.

This over priced hotel does not have Wi-Fi, which I find absolutely absurd. The contract company had set us up a wireless connection but it has been taken down for the move. I do hope they have one set up at the new place or that it is at least caught up to what is becoming average technology.

The problem is you spout off about a subject you have no clue about PTO. The mechanics were well informed about NWA's intentions well in advance, you just cant stand the fact that the AMFA made a stand and made all those industrial unions look like the wind bags they are!.....GET OVER IT already, the mechanics have spoken, plant you some roots and buy that stock

local, I brought up an old topic for you to take a look at. You lie about what the members were told about the scabs before the strike.
......And where is the lie SCAB? the AMFA mechanics were privy to what NWA's was planning long before you and your SCUM BROTHERS were informed! BUY THAT STOCK GENIUS

If the NWA scabs (you) are so good, why is NWA management trying to get strikers to cross the picket line? Why is NWA management calling the strikers at home? Why is NWA still trying to hire scabs?

The fact remains that AMFA warned it members two years ago that NWA rogue management was going to try some form of hardball tactics and to be preparing for a strike. When NWA hired Steenland (attorney) and then Cohen (US Air BK Expert on screwing employees') everyone with eyes could see something was up.

Now hopefully, NWA will spiral down to Chapter 7 Liquidation. Steenland, Cohen and the rest of these NWA corporate terrorists will be blamed for it, and PlaytheCods will a scab for life. 😉

Post documented proof that the union members were lied to?

Come up with another strategy? Haven't you heard? The company had demands and were not moving from those demands, AMFA offered concessions to avert the strike, and the company still said no.

AMFA leadership and the rest of us in the industry are indeed quite surprised at the number of so-called professional technicians that are willing to selfishly assist corporate america in the destruction of a once proud profession. Nobody would have ever convinced me that the AMT profession had so many selfish, ignoramous' in the universe.

Remember, the AMFA/NWA AMT's recently went to the NMB Presidential Emergency Board and succesfully argued a pending shortage of trained mechanics along with PAMA. I bet you dont know much about PAMA do you? And with folks like you willing to destroy the pay and benefits of the profession, I think the pending shortage will still take place. It will be delayed due to current economics but the shortage will still occur. Who wants to go through the training and buy tools to work weekends, holidays, and mid-nights, only to be undermined by a scab like yourself?

Oh, your superior contract company is already taking care of your needs I see. Wait until you see what happens once you have busted the union. You don't have it bad yet.

PTO....just how do you know what we were told and what we werent told? You act like you have all this knowledge about what was going on with AMFA before the strike but you dont know squat! Maybe your scum sucking SCAB friends would like you to believe this but it is far from the truth. Once again you comment of things you have no knowledge about but thats nothing new, in fact that is your moniker here. Maybe you should change your sig to something that better suits you like "Im PTO and i tell lies hoping someone might believe me"

You guys need to keep in mind that I am on the inside of the fence. Most of the MAP's here are AMFA cardholders. They know all to well what was and is going on here and they know a lot more than you guys do.

NWA still needs a little over 300 mechanics. Is it stupid for them to advertise these jobs?
