Rumor centeral reporting US is advising former AQ employees in Maui that they no longer will recieve passes on US due to pending US/HA merger. These AQ employees are still working ground ops at OGG for other airlines under contract and had been told previously they still had passes available on US. I know from always checking this board, if there is any truth to this, SOMEONE on this board would know.

Maybe it's just a new agreement for baggage/handling. Then again, US was sending some of their own employees from PHX out to the Islands. I doubt its a US/HA merger. It sure would be neat seeing a US Airways HA Colors retrojet a la PSA/AWA...

767s...instant widebodies.

Is this project waterfall?

Where is lcc1???

I think they have about 30 or so planes 767-300's and 717's with 15 or 20 A-350's on order. Might be a good merge.

717's? Yuck.

Why don't we just buy Frontier, and viola, Airbus's and Denver. No need for a United merge.

Well they [HA] have an order down for A332's and A350's. US like! 😀

I hope this rumor is merely a figment of an over active imagination.

HA is the last of the airlines flying to the Hawaiian Islands that makes the trip feel quite special and not just another airplane ride.

Bad news for all the terrific HA employees if this is true.

A merger with an airline based in the state that is the most dependant on travel and vacation ?

Sounds like a winner to me!!!!

When do we redouble our LAS operations ?

p.s who wants some moon land ? Moooon land for sale ! PM me for more info!!! It’s going FAST so act now !

HAL would seem to be redundant to routes already operated(at least intermittently)by US and are competition for UAL.

The only way it would work would be a draw down which is like buying PSA and shutting it down or TWA and shutting it down.

I think we can all agree, on both sides that, that would be a bad idea.

Aloha contract services employees now work for PAC ( Pacific Air Cargo ). They have no pass agreements with US as of May 30 due to the fact that US

gave 60 day notice because of AQ being in the position they were in. US will be going with HA as a servicing contract only for Above/Below wing starting

June.

If they were to get a couple of passes extended from servicing US in the past then that would be great because you have no Idea what those employees

gave to US during BK. They came to work ( in Maui anyway ) when they hadn't been paid for 2 weeks. They were comitted. I wouldn't have been with all

that was going on over there. I think they should retain the 2 passes they were given until used. I also think they should be given 2 more for hanging in there.

Some of them are being hired by HA, but alot aren't. The last week of May will be interesting.....And yes they do another airline ( West Jet ). There was even talk

while this was going on with pay that US would pay them for staying till the end of the month if they weren't going to get paid by the BK, but GMAC stepped in

and released funds for them.
