Next time you're in CLT go on down to the Mesa crew room in the E-Con and check out their ALPA message board. I'm trying to find their code-a-phone number to list it here so you all will believe it.

To make a long story short Mesa has developed some preliminary pay rates for the 737. They were terrible. US Airways pilots now have to face what us regionals have been dealing with for years.

First Year all the way to 5 Year FO 737 pay rate is $20.47 per hour. After 5 Years you break $32 per hour. The Capt pay was just as scary.

I'll see if I can find a phone number or web link for all of the disbelievers, but like I said it is posted in the CLT crew room in the E-Con.

That sounds like F/A pay.

If this is true, I would hate to see what they are dreaming up for F/As.

This is total flame bait. Not unexpected and nothing new from a PDT pilot. Rates simular to what is posted above were OFFERED and laughed at but the pilot group and union. We can't stop JO from offering. We also can't stop idiots like you from posting flame bait either. Oh well. -Cape

1st.
MESA MEC hotline number is: 800-253-8385

2nd.
It is worth listening to just to hear their entire story about the 737 pay.

737 pay offered by management:

CA pay = MESA's CRJ900 rate + 20%
FO pay = current jet FO pay + 0%

CA
5 year $78.30, Industry average $135.30
10 year $90.39, Industry average $144.15

FO
1 year $20.67, Industry average $40.86
5 year $32.85, Industry average $83.57

It is notable that he would use rates like that as an opener. Perhaps he knows you are willing to work for those kinds of rates just for a chance to fly the Boeing.

I LOVE IT

This is exactly what a mechanic has at Southwest, five years then $32 😛

Ok everybody, sing along with Mitch:

Big wheels keep on turning,
carry me home to see my kin
singing songs about the southland.
I miss ole bamy once again and I think it's a sin.
Well, I heard Mister Young sing about her.
Well, I heard ole Neil put her down.
Well, I hope Neil Young will remember
a southern man don't need him around anyhow.
Sweet home Alabama where the skies are so blue.
Sweet home Alabama, Lord, I'm coming home to you.
In Birmingham they love the Gov'nor.
Now we all did what we could do.
Now Watergate does not bother me.
Does your conscience bother you, tell the truth.
Sweet home Alabama where the skies are so blue.
Sweet home Alabama, Lord, I'm coming home to you.
Now Muscle Shoals has got the Swampers
and they ve been known to pick a song or two.
Lord, they get me off so much,
they pick me up when I'm feeling blue, now how about you.
Sweet home Alabama where the skies are so blue.
Sweet home Alabama, Lord, I'm coming home to you.
Sweet home Alabama where the skies are so blue.
Sweet home Alabama, Lord, I'm coming home to you.

Why would Little Johnny believe the pilots are different now? He knows exactly the constitution and fabric of his prized workers. They have demonstrated to him, over and over for a long time. He's going to ride the Jackass until it dies of exhaustion or hunger. He may be a crook but he knows a good thing for himself and his fatcat buddies.

It's like Peoplexpress all over again. I recall a 747 capt was making $56K to start out.....this is no lie. Their 727-737 capts were around 27K. And you know what?? The place was bristling with newbie crews trying to build their hours. Yep....No shortage of crews even with those rates.

If this catches on then you can expect all the pax carriers to seek the same. Because the only way you can compete effectively with the 3rd world is when your standard of living matches theirs  !!! It's only a matter of time.

Airlines want to dump all their maintenance obligations to the hack shops so they can pad their wallets. If they can save so much by dropping MTC then imagine what they can save by replacing the crews with suckers that will work for peanuts....heck, they might even wind up paying them with peanuts <_<

Won't that be niiiiiiiice 😀 !!

CapeCod,

I don't apologize if you think I'm posting flame bait. I just commented on what I saw in writing on your Mesa ALPA message board posted in plain view of all people who pass by it CLT. I am sorry if you feel that Mesa criticism, which is usually aimed at J.O., somehow reflects upon yourself. Your guilt is something I can't control. My post was for the interest of those US Air pilots and othe major carrier pilots to see what they will soon have to compete with when it comes time for contract negotiations.

Once again I'm sorry if I offended you as a Mesa pilot, but I don't apologize for posting facts about what I and all see walking through the CLT crew room.

Please, please, please tell J.O. to stuff those payrates up his butt. Your pilot group is big enough and hopefully experienced enough now to make a stand.

PDTprop, And once again, the major airline pilots at U won't have to compete with these rates if we don't accept them which as I stated above we laughed at. But as you can see by the responces already you have sucked in a couple fools that actually think we will. Just what you were looking for. If you wanted to tell the truth your post would have been worded to reflect it. In stead you worded it like a professional writer. Skewed to reflect the point of view you want shown not the actually truth. Again flame bait. To bad there are so many suckers here that will fall for it. -Cape

And perhaps it is notable that U managment asked for 1.5 billion in give backs this time. (plus the two billion already) Maybe it is because they know you guys will give until you have personally destroyed the entire major airline payscale at all positions. Hell, I guess you aready did that the first time around. -Cape

Maybe these will be the E190 rates...thanks to UAIR's "senior" pilots.

Yes but, "At least you'll have a job..." <_<

Cowardice.....the new flavor of the day

Yeah I wonder where that downward pressure is coming from ? I think it is time for each individual pilot to decide - How low will you go ? At which point is it just not worth the personal and family sacrifice anymore ?
