If i recall the glass segal act limited banks ability to invest , or something like that ... i've heard that our banks were going to be left behind if it hadn't passed and hence the strong push to repeal the act ...

now i don't know how much of a hand this new treasure secretary had in bringing about our current situtation ... but before you dismiss him out right , you should know he did play a vitial role in helping to solve the Asian crisis that occurred a few years ago ..


once again , i STRONGLY suggest that those of you who maintain partisan views drop them and take pragmatic views ...our nation has no time for ideologues... we are in the mists of our nations most trying time , a threat to our way of life unlike any we have faced before , and we simply CANNOT become fools running around screaming "democrat , republican" at each other while rome burns .... screw politics , let us only discuss which policy or path is better for our nation and let the only thing that divides us be disagreement over the merit of each proposal .

Pragmatically speaking,of course.....I watched from the sidelines as the two year sales pitch floundered on and on......Now keeping pace with the new administration and all these rants about change...we gotta change the way we do things in DC.....its quite evident that its merely more of the same.What happened to that guy everyone jumped onto the bandwagon for and his platform?

These trying times are payback for easy credit for the past thirty years......its going to get globally interesting.

The major thing that the majority of economists, conservative and liberal, agree on at this point, is increasing the deficit to stimulate the economy.

They are way in over their heads and they know it but can't show it. To believe these people will straighten the entire planet out is a fools dream.

This entire deal is truly biblical and anyone who thinks that is being too dramatic needs to wake up to reality.

This could become very bad very fast and then become very ugly when civil unrest occurrs due to desperation---like when buying a loaf of bread or getting grandmas or your childs medicine is impossible.

Should we crawl in a hole, read freedom’s daily doomsdays posts, build a shelter under ground...what do we do? This may just be your last turkey dinner----------

Realistically Obama does not have a choice. You have one person going up against an institution of 500+ Reps, 100 Sen, thousands of foot soldiers, lobbiests and who knows how many others out there. Change that goes against the self interest of those folks is going to be incremental at best. The only way I see that speeding up is if the people (us) see that changing the way things are done in DC can have a possitive effect on the US, then perhaps we will get behind those doing things to help the nation and kick out those who are going against the interest of the nation. Perhaps that will speed up the transformation. As it stands now, any changes in the way things will be done and who does it will be incremental at best. Anyone who thought the changes would be dramatic and far reaching has not studied history or US government.
