MORE NO SHOWS FOR PILOTS

What makes you think that and unemployed individual who had NO hopes of ever returning to USAir without merger is entitled to knock an employed individual whos has been flying daily down the list??? By your logic should we get the pilots of Braniff and Pan Am and place them ahead of you??? You see that's the problem, you feel like you are entitled and that we in the west should pay that tab for you.

I am sore that people can't own up to their responsibilities and take credit for their actions. We never had to be here but because some feel like they are owed something we are... <_<

Geez Buddy,

I thought you were going to take a break....

Do you ever fly, or are your eyeballs always on the forum waiting to attack and refute every poster that disagrees with your view?

Believe me when I say this....if you had flown 15 plus years with the airline and found someone who was still in Junior High School when you were hired leapfrog your position, you would be pissed too. This I guarantee. Entitlement? I think not!

Windfall for you...I think so.

When you visit PHL or PIT and strut through the crew lounge can you give me a heads up. I think there might be a chance to sell tickets. Maybe you'll want an agent. Heck you might even need an agent in CLT.

I never said anything about taking a break you did!! I knew the game before I got in it and if I had 15 or 20 yrs it really wouldn't matter as I work for a company that is twice bankrupt in 24 months and looking at liquidation. I would be happy to still be employed and in MY REALITIVE position. I lost realitive position as did the majority of the west pilots so save that windfall crap. The winfall is you still being employed!! The windfall is the top 517 slots!

West windfall? I KNOW not!!

AWA320,

You are truly clueless. The US Airways pilots believe the Nicolau Award is unjust and I agree with Jack Stephan...the East pilots will do anything to stop the Nicolau Award from being implemented.

Do you get that?

Well no one merged with Braniff or Pan Am.

I believe that when United got the Pan Am Oriental routes, with the planes came the employees, and their seniority.

Same with the LHR asset purchase.

And I believe Delta followed suit with the purchase of the remaining Pan Am assets.

why is it so hard for this company and its unions to follow that logic?

I do, but you will only prolong the inevitable, and that will cost you plenty of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and years of being the bitches of the industry under LOA 93. Is it worth it? Your guys will have to decide for themselves. If you ask me, if a TA is put out to vote in the east the first 2 may be voted down (I'm guessing a 70/30 vote) , but a year from now after age 65 changes TA III will be voted in 56/44.

Callsign,

The US Airways pilots believe they are economically better off by preventing the Nicolau Award from being implemented and living under LOA 93 than having a new contract and having the Nicolau Award passed on to the Company. The East attrition is so large that the advancements and improved qaulity of life outweigh the benefits of a new contract.

In all seriousness, that is what I believe the AWA MEC and the AWA pilots need not recognize. Furthermore, there is no doubt in my mind this feeling will never change in the minds of the East pilots.

If the West pilots want to get a new contract and get beyond the pilot problems then they need to understand the enormous East pilot resolve because the vast majority support the MEC 110%.

I do not doubt your resolve and a vast majority sentiment that the negative of the award outweigh the benefits of a new contract. That is due in most part to the misinformation and a general lack of understanding of the true impact the award will have, which is minimal. One area the West MEC, and East for that matter, have failed to do is perform an analysis of the award to include joint mock bidding forecasting movement and thus impact on each pilot group. As I have stated before, I am concerned the award does not have fences to protect PHX and LAS bases. By doing a joint in-depth analysis and presenting the results to the pilot group might help ease some of the concerns about "career expectation" and/or help facilitate a mutually acceptable solution.

I must disagree, not with the resolve, but with the "support the MEC 110%". Its only eyewash from where I sit and so I told Wilson's pollman. The actions of both EC and MEC, both stalling in their own way (not passing award, futile lawsuit) only serve to cement our resolve for action that should have taken place after the pension giveaway and worthless advice(ALPA council) during bankruptcy negotiations.

Wow-USA320 where are you? Dissension in the ranks? Please state the "I believe....."

History has proven time and again that AAA pilots will sell out their junior for an extra packet of mustard in their crew meal. History will repeat itself. Always does.

OMG please just keep quiet because you obviously don't know you airline history. Long before the 80's UAL purchase of Pan American pacific routes Pan Am (USAIR) mergerd with a company called National (AWA). Pan Am was every bit the nasty aholes that some in the east are being now!! They treated the National people like dirt and felt that the world owed them everything. Well they needed Natioanl BAD!! as their route structure helped Pan Am at a time when they were losing everything...

The fact that any journeymen were stapled below apprentices should make any union member "sore".

I'm one of those "apprentices".

My name appears on the 7/91 PAA seniority list. I guess I didn't learn anything in the intervening 15 years and 3 majors.

Can you guess how many fingers I'm holding up?
